This didn't cover the point I thought it would, but it's still pretty cool. There's another way that Amalthus kind of saved the world unintentionally that involves spoilers for Xenoblade 1 and 2. (By the way, I'm copying a comment I made on a different video.) By technicality, Amalthus saved Alrest from Shulk. And neither of them are even aware. 🙃 In case you're wondering what I mean by that, Shulk defeating Zanza causes the World Tree to begin collapsing. This means that from Alrest's side, this was more inevitable than the Titans dying off. Because the Xenoblade 2 party ends up climbing the World Tree, Pneuma gets to stop the Tree from collapsing, plus Klaus does the whole last gift thing. However, neither of these things would have happened if Amalthus never climbed the Tree himself all those years ago. 👀 So whether he meant to or not (he definitely didn't lol), Amalthus saved Alrest. From Shulk (who also wasn't aware that he almost destroyed Alrest).

Slight correction. When Amalthus cleanses a Core Crystal, he removes all the collected data. This includes not only the data from different Drivers, but data passed onto the Blade from the parent Titan. Blades evolve not only through individual resonances, but by the data collected from all previously existing Blades and redistributed by the Trinity Processor. We know this because Lora is confirmed to be Haze’s only previous Driver, yet she is not a Common Blade. If Haze’s Core Crystal was truly a blank slate prior to resonating with Lora like all the Common Blade Core Crystal, this wouldn’t be the case. It would be more accurate to say that cleansing a Core Crystal makes it more like one from the initial batch that created the first Titans than one freshly harvested from a dying Titan.

@@BurstFlare Admitted jumped the gun there. However, the fact that Lora’s resonance was expressed so strongly in Haze suggests she had few-to-no Drivers prior to Lora yet she is far more advanced than any Common Blade, suggesting that Common Blades are the result of Core Crystals that lack a lot of the data that is normally inherited from the Trinity Processor and parent Titans.

I mean. Considering normal blade core crystals would gather information over presumably centuries. Before the blade had enough info to become a titan and use the data from its core as a titan to generate all of the life on itself, including monsters and "humans" and the such. I'd imagine the core crystals can store a significant amount of info with little problem. So Amalthus didn't really do anything to help. Other than making it so not as much info would need to be stored as originally due to many sunken titans and all their data and people being absent so didn't need to be stored when the time came but even had they remained it likely would have posed little issue for the crystals. Even less of an issue had Torna still been around likely

We do have at least 3 known cases of multiple independently sentient beings in a single Core Crystal: Nim, Kit, and Sunny; Ursula and Beary; and Mythra and Pyra. Granted, two of these cases has one entity clearly as the dominant one and the others probably don't have as much of a personality, while the third is _the Aegis,_ so there's not necessarily proof that a single _ordinary_ Core Crystal can fit multiple fully independent people, but they're still worth bringing up.

1:30 I don't think core crystals store memories, only soul/DNA. It's why a blade lose its memories after going back to its core. Also, memory backup and restore are a thing in Xenoblade 1 (Egil can freely explore memories of his face mechons and edit/delete them, in a way very similar to how memories show during interlinking in Xenoblade 3 by the way). All of that makes even more sense considering Origin is half from XC1, half from XC2. They had to merge these two technologies to make backup and restore of full human souls and memories possible.

Where as his Japanese name, Marubeni, (Sounds like a flipped version of Benimaru) probably refers to the bloodshed he causes 4:31-4:35 (Beni = Deep red), as a result of the rituals he conducts with the core crystals 3:16-3:22 (Maru = Circle). it seems like the same or very similar technology, or an evolution thereof... the Xenoblade 2 core crystals are semi-truncated (4/6) octahedrons, the ones in origin are cubes (cubes and octahedrons are "dual" with each other, btw - whatever that's supposed to me, if anything, you can never know with these games)
@alexstewart9592

@@ArinJager1 I can explain how they are "dual" with each other. A cube has six faces and eight corners, while a regular octahedron has six CORNERS and eight FACES, and if you line up the corners of one with the centres of the faces of the other you also line up the inverse (I.E. the centres of the faces of the first one are also lined up with the corners of the second). There are two other 3D shapes I know off the top of my head that have this property - the 12 and 20 sided regular polyhedrons form a pair, and the 4-sided regular polyhedron is dual with itself. Interestingly, these are the ALSO the only regular polyhedrons that can simultaneously have all faces be the same shape and all angles between adjacent sides be equal, which makes them the only shapes that produce fair dice without the use of internal weights.

Don't use common cores, they're garbage. Always use at least one justice booster because the game will then consider justice as your highest idea level and make it more likely to pull dark and light blades. If you need core crystals, smash farm Vampire Bride Marion in Uraya (requires the quest "The Titan Scholar to be completed) because it drops gold chips which increase drop rates, then smash farm one of the superbosses or Relentless Arduran (I use Arduran) with your newly acquired gold chips and as many treasure sensor blades as you can equip. Meaning Core Crystals, are replicable technology that possibly did not require the Conduit in their construction- or if they did, it's likely Ether, which is the main powersource in Blades, was what jumpstarted the ability to create Cores. Maybe Klaus blowing things up spread or awakened Ether throughout each universe, which seems to effectively self perpetuate. There might even have been some machinery or datalogs remaining that could tell the people of Alrest (and of Bionis) how to create Core Crystals or how to come real close to doing so. Assuming someone such as Tora didnt just manage to recreate them from scratch or reverse engineer them from an existing Blade Core as a base.

They had advanced technology and science and space travel and $h*t... and so do the people in the futuristic Earth where they found the conduit (most all of that tech comes from it... the trinity processor cores are like emulator Zohars - like in Xenosaga games... the conduit is basically like the zohar in those games... or in xenogears, that game has a zohar, too)... The Trinity Processor is a quantum biocomputer... and then it had the A.I.s (raised in a virtual reality to develop personalities and stuff)... and then these A.I.s were making their own technology without humans (artifices like Siren - these don't have an onboard power source, but they get their power from guess what: the "not-zohar" aka conduit - the trinity redistributes the energy, and the energy is endless - a perpetual machine)... Funny is, that the core crystals were originally meant to replace brain cells - neurons... and that there's DNA inside of core crystals (as shown in Torna tgc - the creepo priest dude shows it to somebody, don't remember to whom)... and that the Architect tells the heroes that BLADES ARE HUMAN TOO... it's pretty crazy... The ether is something that doesn't really exist in the regular world, but maybe it's something that the conduit brings with it (but then the conduit f*cks off, but ether remains, so, probably not)... it's certainly something "alien" for sure (maybe even, no, not even, but for sure, extradimensional, from a higher plain of existence - Galea calls it "meta-universe manifold"... and it's described as "magnetic abnormal matter" - it could as well be made out of or be the Ether itself)... I know, TL:DR >.> sorry (but not sorry, though) also: Z is like a 4th A.I. (either just an OS of the origin that caught a computer virust/got corrupted, or he spontaneously emerged from the background noise extrapolated as a pattern or whatever)... as the Origin mirrors certain thematical aspects from before (too long to list here)

Not related to the vid but this has been ringing in my head for a bit. In xenoblade 2's challenge DLC when first meeting Elma didn't Rex and the gang appear as fog like creatures? The same as Noah's group did to the colony leaders in 3? I haven't played X so I'm not sure if it's somthing to do with that game instead but it's just somthing I've been thinking about.

They just looked like one of the alien factions from X, not the amorphous fog creatues Ethel saw. I would also bet my entire fortune that challange mode isn't in any way canon. Edit: They looked like "Prone" in case you wanted to look them up.

not true, not exactly, anyway... aegises/trinity processor cores work differently (they're basically like "zohar emulators", only 3 this time, instead of 12)

Wouldnt Rex and company not clearly recognize Shulk as Zanza from the other world? I mean, sure, the Architect was way older looking, but Shulk also ages getting a view wrinckles and the voice is the same. Couldnt this have ended in battle, the heroes from Alrest clearly know the Zanza of Bionis as evil... Im sure at least Rex would have clashed with Shulk. Monolith, give us input on that.
@krimsonkatt
@krimsonkatt Жыл бұрын
Nope. Very few people knew of the other world's existance or Origin and even then it's very likely no one from Alrest ever knew about Zanza being a thing. Plus they likely wouldn't recognize Shulk as the Architect and it's likely anyways that Shulk never met the others in canon. (XB2 Land of Challenge and Smash Bros are non-canon) The only people who even knew of the other world were Melia, Shulk, Nia, Rex, Pyra, Mythra, and Tora. Zanza was likely never brought up in Nia and Amelia's conversations who were the only ones who ever talked.

@@krimsonkatt well, maybe I just wish for cool stuff to happen in vol.4 DLC.🤔 I'm one of those guys not pleased with the plot of XC3. At least, why didnt Noah go full Shulk on Z Moebius? 😭 Instead he got destroyed with 🌈 LOVE 🌈. To be honest, my memory of XC2 is perhaps a bit blurry...

@@dennisgartner6592 No Artifice Aeon/Malos also got an awesome finishing attack from Rex in XB2 just like Shulk did for Zanza in XB1. Zed in XB3 just got nothing nearly as cool. I have a strong feeling that base Xenoblade 3 is only the first half of the story, and the "story expansion DLC" will be a lot bigger than we could ever expect, like a whole second 50+ hour campaign... It can't just end with as disappointing a finale as Zed was compared to the last two games. Even X was better with it's insane ending cutscene even if the final boss sucked. "There's something about this planet" indeed. Zed in XB3 seems a lot more of a "part 1 final boss" like Id in Xenogears or Proto Merkabah in Xenosaga, not the real final boss of the whole trilogy. Hopefully I'm not proven wrong...

@@krimsonkatt total agree with you on that. For sure, also Malos got his arse handed by Rex. I only bring up Shulk directly just because he was the first impression like that in the XC series, also for me there has gone so much epicness along with the final clash with Zanza that it set a new pinnicle of final battles for me personally. Yeah, monolith really have to deliver in DLC, it may decide if the franchise has a future. Its not like the story in itself sucks, but its the same like with XCX, you want like the wholeness of that universe, it didnt give you anything other than some sci-fi gundam szenario. XC2 managed to do so, so satisfying battling Malos and out of nowhere he uses Monado-Art. Meeting the architect and you already had a feeling there is more to him. And, bamm! Zanza is the architect. Finally, Rex' final move on Aeon Malos, also epic, but then, the cutscene where Zanza heard Shulk and we then knew this happens parallel. Therefore XC2 even did enhance XC1, cause if you played 2, now when you play 1 they are tied together. Just awesome storytelling! So, how does that fit XC3? Sure, you have your eastereggs, the Bionis/Mechonis rune in Keves castle (* cough...Alcamoth...cough *), also the ring at the base of Lucky 7 and, of course, Waifu-Fanservice with Melia and Nia. But tell you what: This is simply not good enough! Leaving it like this would simply be a disgrace to the legacy of the first entries. I think thats why XCX is not well received by the fanbase and Monolith really should have learned from that. I'm totally fine with them conclude that in DLC next year. They go like Big Boss "Kept you waiting, huh?", I go like " Oh, you bloody bastards!🤣"

@@dennisgartner6592 well, you were wrong, Rex and Shulk are best buds (that's not to say they didn't cross swords the first time they met, but the DLC doesn't really mention anything about it... it doesn't even explain how TF Rex and Shulk are even there)
