I was there for the taping of the 2nd pilot with the new actress. At the taping, the youngest daughter, played by Hala Finley, accidentally spilled her drink on the kitchen table during a scene. I think she feared being fired because Jenna had just been fired, and she started crying. Matt quickly pulled her aside and reassured her that all was well and those things happen. It was a nice moment. It would have been nice to have been there for both tapings to see the difference.

Love Jenna, but Liza skews older and has a menace to play into the stereotypical ballbusting wife that sitcoms live on. Matt and Jenna as a sitcom couple would have been very different from the show that's on the air, more nice and pretty than aging and struggling to cope with being the adults.

If that's what happened, why would she dispute it? It would make Matt look bad, not her. She certainly wouldn't be speaking this highly of Matt. Anyway, it sounds like a very typical fake story. I believe what she's saying here, if it's obvious enough it can be many people.

@@mor9820 Just because it was her first time, doesn't mean she shouldn't be aware that it happens a lot in the industry. This was in 2016 and her acting credits go back to 1998. @mor98204 жыл бұрын
Sean Inness agreed but I don’t believe she ever said she wasn’t aware of it. And you can be 100% aware but still when you experience it ofc it’s natural and human to won de r why? With any job if you don’t get it you wanna know was it you, something you did. In her case it wasn’t that she did a bad job but in the case that she may not have done her best then her wondering and asking would have helped her even more so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her sharing the human side of it. As much as you can sit here and say she SHOULD be aware, despite that awareness we are human and we will always want to know what we did and how we can do better if needed.
@seaninness3344 жыл бұрын
@@mor9820 It just came across as a tad solipsistic to a veteran. Like she truly didn't understand it until it happened to her. I just did a quick search and see that the actress that originally played the mother of her character in The Office was replaced by Linda Purl. It's a nightmare scenario for all actors in a fickle industry. The testing and focus groups are a nerve-racking stage. In movies your character can get cut out for a dozen different reasons that have nothing to do with you and then your self doubt tears you a new one. Welcome to acting.
@mor98204 жыл бұрын
I feel like had she said the story in a way that made it seem like how dare it happen to her or like I was the best how dare they maybe? But if she genuinely never experienced it before despite knowing its a regular thing to happen if it doesn’t happen to u you’re like damn I’m on fire but she didn’t say it in a way that came across arrogant just fact of matter like it just hadn’t happened to her yet. And even when explaining the situation she was like I saw the tapes and I Def see what they saw despite me in the moment thinking how I did. Every actor has their firsts. I don’t know much abt acting at all so I do appreciate your tidbits abt the career but also I stand by my point that I do not feel she was being self centered or narcissistic with her story. It just happened to be her luck that she was somehow able to get through her career without being replaced or fired, and so she may know okay this can happen at anytime keep ur guard up or like you know be careful or whatever but when it actually happens you are still a human with feelings. What did I do wrong? How can I do better? Oh okay I see from the clip what you mean got it. That’s all.
