Yup! As if acting like a nutjob in a KFC is going to help, especially when talking about "marine animals" as far as I'm aware KFC doesn't have that on the menu anyhow. What would be more effective is going on actual research and letting people know if they chose a meatless meal s few times a week would drastically improve the problem. It's ridiculous to push veganism when vegetarian would be debatable for the general population. If we could get people to just cut back on meat a bit it would be so much more realistic and beneficial.

I can see that the horse wasn't muddy at all (which is very difficult, a sign that they care) and they don't seem very panicked. It sits still. Actually- I've done a photo session with kids doing a little "riding a unicorn" thing. Those horses come from local barns in which they are fed often, brushed, cleaned, ect. It's a large doubt that they were treated badly. If anything, they're better in those barns than in the wild. In the wild they would be more prone to diseases and harm.

It literally had it's hind leg cocked which is a key sign of a very relaxed horse, if you know the slightest thing about them! It's eyes were half closed as well. If it were stressed it would have it's head raised, eyes wide and whites showing, likely darting its head around and stomping if it wasn't outright trying to get away. If anything was frightening them it was the crazy lady screaming her lungs out, not a bunch of kids. The kids were being cool too, many horses LOVE children as long as they aren't screaming and running all over the place. Like, if you're going to protest animal rights in that way at least try and learn their body language and signs of stress vs relaxation.

Veganism isn't the only way to fight for animal rights. You can go to the government to fight for more enforcement of animal rights laws or more animal rights laws in general. You could also play into the game of the industry and show ways that they can be profitable while still ethical. The main reason that the whaling industry died out is because when they became endangered, the businesses couldn't produce anymore of their products. This in addition to some protection acts prevented whale extinction. You can also ensure that the meat and animal products that you are consuming is from a reputable rancher, maybe even trying to prefer butchers rather than grocery stores. You could also cut out the middle man and own animals that produce that product, such as chickens or rabbits. These are a few of many suggestions

I have an autoimmune disease that makes meat (especially white meat and fish) necessary for nerve and joint pain and inflammation management, as well as several blood disorders stable. Some people eat at KFC and McDonald’s because that’s all they can afford. Some people just like eating meat 🤷🏼♀️. There are many reasons for meat consumption and it’s none of her business why people do it. Everyone wants more humane treatment towards animals bred for food, but we will continue to eat it (for our own reasons) as we advocate for better treatment of the animals and quicker, painless kills. Eat it or don’t, that’s an individual’s decision.

This is known as an "Appeal to hypocrisy fallacy" or Tu quoque. You purchase products made of child labor too whilst also being non-vegan and contributing to the suffering of sentient beings. Do you think her message about animal rights in meat dairy & eggs is discredited just because she purchases products which may have involved child labor?
@IAmBuddythedecibwave2 жыл бұрын
@@GoVeganForTheAnimal No, I think it's discredited by her lack of respect and understanding for people who do not choose as she chooses. If you value kindness, compassion, and empathy, why do you extend none of these to the people you preach to? I find it as shallow as televangelism.

Plants have their own type of system and they're definitely capable of some level of sentience. There are some plants that respond to animals eating them by attacking them. Vegans like tess or tash or whatever her name is and the Vegan teacher need to face the fact that you can't consume anything without causing pain to another life. It's just the law of survival.
@axuwu69392 жыл бұрын
Plus, the farming for plants involves a lot of pest control or destruction of habitats. It’s impossible to eat without causing harm to a living, sentient thing. That’s just the basic law of nature, like you said. The best thing to do is to make food as humane as possible, and harassing horses in a park won’t make any progress towards that
@simply_nebulous2 жыл бұрын
I don't think you fully understand what sentience is.
@talesfromatiredmind47852 жыл бұрын
@@simply_nebulous since sentience is the ability experience sensations but not the ability to think which is intellect. I think I do know what sentience is. Besides I said some level of sentience meaning I am aware that they lack other characteristics like being able express feeling, but they do feel pain and sensation. Maybe read more closely before posting.
@Rockabelle2 жыл бұрын
Yep. The more plants are studied, the more sophisticated we find them to be. Plants can remember things, even better than some animals. They communicate with each other. They react to being damaged. They feed other ailing plants. There is so much we don't know about them, there is no way she can definitively state that they have no sentience and cannot suffer. In addition, the sorts of plants that vegans eat are often picked by severely exploited workers. First world vegans can cause serious problems in other countries by consuming so much of another region's staple food that there isn't enough left for the locals. Other popular vegan foods can cause widespread deforestation and displacement of indigenous people. Some examples of these claims I'm making: tomatoes, quinoa, soybeans. The fact is that an ethical diet requires consideration of many factors. The question of which foods we should eat to cause the least harm is actually quite complex. She shouldn't be pointing fingers at other people when her own diet is morally gray. The best way to seek a kinder food industry is to actually work to address specific issues, not just lump food and people into "good" and "bad" categories and make a literal show of your own righteousness.

I used to be a vegetarian and I ended up suffering pretty badly with anorexia and IBS and my doctor advised me to switch back to eating meat I believe wholeheartedly that the meat/dairy and poultry industry is messed up but I literally cannot be a vegetarian or a vegan due to my medical conditions. I think people like her and that vegan teacher need serious help as they value Animals lives over human beings if they weren’t so in your face more people would probably listen to them

Im similar. I need to eat meat and dairy products due to medical issues and vitamin difcentcies that I cannot take supplements for. I was told that vegetarianism or veganism would likely not end well for me.
@orangejuice3932 жыл бұрын
I became a vegan actually BECAUSE of medical reasons. I have ovarian polycystic syndrome, insulin resistance as well as chronic moderate/severe anemia. Changing my diet to veganism has greeeeaaaatly helped my health. However I must make it very clear, simply not eating dairy nor meat is not enough, if anyone does it but eats lots of sugar, flour, processed foods, etc ...then you might actually get even sicker. At the same time, you can eat meat but in a balanced and moderate manner and it will better your health. What I've noticed is that correctly being vegan takes research (to know how to combine foods to be able to consume everything our body needs like full proteins by mixing grains and cereals, etc), and time to cook (to shy away from processed foods)...but a lot of ppl don't care enough to do it properly.
@ylopezr882 жыл бұрын
I'm very sorry to hear your health issues. But it was being proven that processed meat is one of the many factors that cause cancer. Processed products derived from meat have been included in group 1 carcinogenic agents for humans. This means that they are in the same group as other substances, but it does not mean that they are equally dangerous. Sure, I don't know what their diet was like when they were vegan or vegetarian, but you can find legumes such as lentils, beans, chickpeas, or peas. These are some of the meat substitute foods that provide more protein. Lentils and beans can be substituted for minced meat, and burgers and tacos can be made. I do not know if you guys have tried these alternatives, but if you want too you can try them, there is a lot of information about veganism. Many recipes that I invited you to experiment if you wish. I hope I don't cause problems, I just wanted to guide you on that side. I hope that you guys are feeling better.
