Two things I feel I should point out: 1. Even if it shouldn't happen, in reality examiners do get pissed off and SHOW it when you go the wrong way. At least mine was clearly pissed off. So be prepared. Don't let them put you off, and just continue driving safely. They are miserable human beings. 2. Not sure if Aman already told you this, but be very careful when you turn the indicator on (when parked) before preparing the gear/checking the blindspots, etc.). If you make a car stop because they think you are about to pull out and you are not, you will fail. Best to put the indicator on a few moments before you're going!

Hi I went the wrong way on my test 3 times and I was worried I would fail. The examiner said he wasn’t there to check my navigation skills just if I was a safe driver. I passed first time with 3 minors. So don’t worry if you go the wrong way just carry on safely . X

Aman, please teach her the emergency stop? She doesn’t seem to realise the EMERGENCY part. She should be aiming to cause the examiner a neck injury when she does it. I’ve seen so many learners on KZbin mock tests that just come to a gradual stop. The imaginary child that rushes out doesn’t have much of a chance.

I have seen her driving capabilities, and it's very good. She just needs to take her time with roundabouts and junctions. For example: pulling out and turning into a junction without clipping the curb on the near side, also with roundabouts, keeping to the correct lane at the right time, especially when entering. Only now will she be able to drive on her own, but independently.

the main issue with her braking is that she is pressing clutch before brakes even when the car is at high speed. for slow speed pressing clutch before brakes is good practice but not when you are moving at high speed.

That was impressive overall showing Mahwish is growing in confidence. The emergency stop does take time to build confidence with. My first was an actual emergency! Two young boys running out between parked cars, beat my instructor to the brakes!

Your first time being left to make all the decisions is a bit bewildering but you got through it. Now I've watched Aman's videos of people who've passed their Test get Dangerous Faults. I'm in the US. When I was in high school(age 16), it was very easy to get a driver's license. (1) 3 hours of classroom driver's ed, (2) 30-minute behind the wheel with the driver's ed teacher (3) take written test with 30 question and 80% is passing, (4) road test for 10 minutes, which included 1 parallel parking, 2 turns, reverse parking, (5) wait 30 minutes while they printed the driver's license. That was it. Of course, I did know how to drive at the time because my parent taught me... but my friend who didn't really know how to drive also passed easily (!!!)

My test was yesterday and I did the same mistake as Mawish did. I did good in the test getting very minors. Roundabout, dual carriageway, meeting situations, junctions and manoeuvre were all good. I only failed because I didn’t check my right blindspot like 3 or 4 times because that then became consistent. I got annoyed at that because the actual test is really easy You can do it Mawish 👍

I passed with 3 minors first attempt. My instructor was very hard on me which is one of the most reason I did. I asked him to be open and frank with my dirving skill sets. Most of the time is to unlean my Indian drving skills. Around 8 hours training did wonders. My suggestion is dont take negative when instrcutor say your wrong. He/She has a reason to say so. Also my instuctuor did also talk about the good thnigs I did. So that's just started to improve from Day 1 till Day 8.

I’m sure she has had more but it’s not to do with the number of lessons but rather her progress and she is progressing well. Mock tests are really good at showing weaknesses (as well as strengths) that way it paves a path for future lessons and working towards the test🙂

I live and drive in BC, why do the UK drivers always drive with one hand or are shuffling the steering wheel ? I also find they do not check their mirrors or blind spots as much as my instructor had advised me. No hate just trying to gain knowledge here.

Should have both hands on the wheel most of the time. Exceptions are changing gear or reversing where one hand is allowable. This learner did seem to have some trouble finding the gears at times. As for mirrors I was told to really make it clear to the examiner I was looking in the mirrors!

I passed my test 30 years ago, there were no mock tests. It took me 3 attempts. I failed on the first attempt, then tried again the second time shortly afterwards at my instructor's urging and failed again because I wasn't ready yet. By the third time I was finally comfortable with driving. On the attempt I passed on, the examiner said it was a nice relaxing drive. Mahwish needs to drive around until it starts to feel boring, because the actions that you're doing start to feel automatic. It's also *never* a bad idea to check your mirrors. Slowing down? Mirror check. Indicating? Mirror check. Changing direction? Check those mirrors. When you do it check *all* of the mirrors. I was told that you should be checking your mirrors every 7 seconds. Maybe try counting to 7 in your head, then checking your mirrors then do it again. Keep thinking "has it been 7 seconds?". If you can't remember, then check your mirrors! You should also make your mirror checks really obvious so that the examiner on your test can see that you're doing them. Move your head to the left and right a lot to show that you're looking.

42 hrs, 13 mins and 34 seconds worth of driving exactly. The real answer is that there is no exact time. When you feel confident, however long that takes, then you will be but confidence is only part of what makes you ready to pass. It can also be a problem if your confidence outstrips you capabilities so the best thing to do is wait for your instructor to tell you that you are ready
