This game was not the goalies faults, and I think Primeau coming in and doing worse proves it (although I will admit there were some soft ass goals). I have never seen so many people get left wide open alone in the slot while they are playing in the defensive zone. Montréal's defense was hard to watch and the goalies stood no chance. How can a goalie perform when they get demoralized by their own team? The pens have owned the Habs for a while, so I hope it's just that because since the return of Laine Montréal was starting to look like a real team. Really hope we bounce back quickly from this one. And Matheson could probably use a few Hockey101 courses😂
@kAzinGamingАй бұрын
The whole team could use hockey 101 courses, seriously wtf are they doing they aren't doing man to man at all, nor are they doing zone coverage, just chasing the puck hoping for a turnover. I've always played zone coverage when I was younger, I know man to man can work but it feels really disorganized nobody can pick up the right guy when coming back from the rush. Marc Bergevin was moved out and replaced by TWO guys: Guyton and Hughes. The team continues to languish in the cellar of the Eastern Conference. Martin St Louis will be the scapegoat for the lack of improvement. Marty is a good man and coach but hardly produces the results Guyton and Hughes desire. (Things was moving like it was being controlled by a kid on his playstation). 3)Lane Hutson will be something special. If it's any solace, Montreal will win a cup before Toronto does.
@CarbonatedTurtleАй бұрын
I'm more angry at myself than anyone else for getting my hopes up for 2 minutes and thinking this team wasn't dogshit. Other than Hutson our defense is the joke of the league, and Monty has proven yet again that he's not consistent enough to be a starting goalie. I don't even want to talk about Primeau, but he needs to be replaced on the bench. How can we keep dressing a guy who's guaranteed to let in half the shots he faces? And yet another night our 2022 first overall pick didn't make it onto the scoresheet. The last half of last season doesn't mean fuck all if he can't do a goddamn thing in the first half of any season. We can't wait until February every year for him to start getting goals. If he can't score without being on a line with our two highest scorers, there's something seriously wrong with him. 2 goals halfway through December just ain't gonna cut it.
@jjevans1693Ай бұрын
Hutson is a joke as well. -14 already. Alot of flash and no finish.

@@jjevans1693 That's hardly all on him. He's second in TOI on the team and our goalies have a combined GAA of 3.52. If we had even half decent goaltending, they'd be able to make up for some of the shortcomings in our defense. Not to mention the fact that several goals never would've happened if not for a perfect pass from Hutson that most players wouldn't be able to make, so he's more than made up for his share of defensive mistakes.
