This episode featured 2 bots I have an immense soft spot for, Kraken and Blacksmith. So this one was an emotional roller-coaster and had me crying twice. First when it was announced that we wont see kraken again and second when blacksmith threw the match in the literal last second.

Blacksmiths driving was so on point this episode. It was so disappointing seeing it throw the match the last second against Bloodsport. I was so hoping to see a Scorpios vs Blacksmith finals.

They showed ALL the fights! When they had shown all the first round battles except Kraken / Blade I was all "oh no, they're not putting Kraken on KZbin?!?!?" and no, they didn't. If Kraken is done, it went out with massive style.

There definitely needs to be some changes to the judging criteria. Between losing fan favourites who "cannot see a path to victory for their design in the current rules" (like Kraken, Duck and Smeee) and fights like Blacksmith vs Bloodsport where one bullies the other for the fight, but touches the spinner and looses. (Just like Shatter vs Malice, Kraken vs Black Dragon, Kraken vs Hijinx) Battlebots needs to find a way to provide a path for you to win without a spinner or it will loose all its diversity.

Kraken going out exactly like the rest of its run. it'll always be an absolute legend on being the least bricky most unkillable bot in the sport. if any of kraken's blood seeps into their next bot it'll be an absolute monster for sure.

Two things to say: Blacksmith it's a badass. You really can se it like a bot can win fights consistently, and looking at them like this after it's amazing performance in 2019 really makes me want to see a deep run from the bot. And, in the second hand, I expected Bloodsport vs Blade as a poor man's Tombstone vs SOW but it was really disappointing. I actually didn't saw significant damage on Blade, just Bloodsport strike on the wedge and made it point downwards, lefting it high centered.

The way damage and aggression feeds into each other in the score category is an issue. But I don`t think just a rule rewrite for scoring is needed to increase variety. For me there is a one issue, that even with a more fair score card, is going to force a even heavier spinner meta. There is not enough ways to disable/knock-out a bot. With the insane quality increase in bots we now are getting, compared to even 5 years ago, low power weapons are struggling to knock out any bots. As the base line defense of most bots is just so much higher. So we are seeing either bots upgrading their weapon or ditching it, like whiplash. Other part is the arena, and I`m not only talking the shelf. There is almost no spots left to knock or stick your opponent. Which of course is seriously nerfing the control bots, as there is almost no place to knock out the opponent. This also punished bots with low power weapons, as the often trade low power for elements that gives them control. Like a better drive or more defense that led to coral their opponent. The shelf is also of course taking up valuable arena space which faster more maneuverable control bots need. To well move and get into position, instead of getting forced to face a spinner head on. The other part is, well for me at least, in some matches with the increased speed and maneuverability of bots, that the arena can feel a little small. I would be all for elevation elements if it meant increase in arena size rather than the decrease it got. More space, with more elements would also perhaps help control bots more. But as the arena is now, its cramped with 2 corners that`s a death sentence for any control bot.

I think Bloodsport was robbed against Skorpios. If I were a judge I would have scored the fight as: 4-1 Damage for Bloodsport 2-1 Aggression for Bloodsport 2-1 Control for Skorpios Total: 7-4 for Bloodsport

@@teamlastchancem5195 Untrue, they engaged with Skorpios plenty of times and chased after it many times. Also, running to get spun up doesn't hurt your aggression according to the rules, which I agree with. Bloodsport was more aggressive than Skorpios.

Although Bloodsport did show some pretty good aggression. Due to Skorpios constantly being engaged with Bloodsport. Twice as often as bloodsport was in fact, and considering that Skorpios never paused to spin up (Not like they really could have lmao). Skorpios had more time to add aggression points. Although backing off to spin off wouldn't lose or hurt aggression points it's not something that actively adds aggression.

Blade 's design just doesn't suit the show. Their armor pieces are their own worst enemy. Skorpios drove perfectly in its fight, considering how dangerous Bloodsport is.
