Michael Keaton not winning an Oscar for this was a *crime*.

This and Whiplash came out not too far apart and are my 2 favorite films from 2014. I've seen them both numerous times since then and they never get old.

The movie, the score and the percussion are awesome just like this review. Respect for doing your own thing and not following whats popular to react to.

Have you seen Bojack Horseman? I binge watched it earlier this year and it has very similar vibes. Amazing show that deals with dark themes in an absurdist world so you can handle the heaviness with dark/silly humor. One of those shows that gets better with every season. 10/10

Mike's girlfriend is played by Naomi Watts (David Lynch's 'Mulholland Drive' which you should definitely react to!), and Birdman's girlfriend is played by Andrea Riseborough ('The Death of Stalin', which you've reacted to already).

Great reaction I like the last scene 'cause it summarizes the whole movie Thruthful and sincere Art vs Popular and commercial productions He did in fact jumped and died, thats what thuthful art wanna tell, but most people dont wanna get into serious stuff, so we go after that commercial part of entertainment, and thats what Sam (his daughter) was trying to do by watching his dad fly. Sam represented us, the spectators

Such an underrated movie. Definitely one of my favorites. If you want to see another cool overlooked movie look up “Inherent Vice” with Joaquin Phoenix. Not for everyone but I think its a really cool moodpiece/comedy.

@@JimmyMacram The other recent example you didn't like can't have been 1917, right? Because the one shot worked perfectly for the story of that.

…and gratuitous. It’s usually gratuitous as well. Although the granddaddy of the single take is Russian Ark, which is well worth a watch. 300 years in one single uninterrupted take. Rope as well, but less successful, IMO.

@@BasedNate Movies I like range from the MCU/DCU to spy thrillers (Enemy of the State and No Way Out) to gangster (Training Day and Godfather) to dystopian (Rollerball 1975 and Escape From NY) to westerns (Django and Unforgiven) to classics (any Sidney Poitier and John Wayne) to families (Steel Magnolias and Fried Green Tomatoes) to historical dramas (The Green Book and 1917). So I watch a lot of different but Birdman just didn't do it for me.

I was bored too, I guess i just didn't care about this story, I feel like this movie was only made for people who are into the film industry, and it didn't make it that accessible for those who aren't. I think the single take made me nauseated, idk why.
