The sound you were struggling to identify was a Rhodes style electric piano. ISAO is most likely playing one of his eight string guitars on this track, as he usually sticks to those for his work with SoLi.

At first it reminded me of the song Piece of Time by Atheist (1990). Which I can't confirm after listening to it...but the drummer from Atheist is also a beast.✌

Don't think I've caught all of your reactions to this album, but this is by far my favourite of the songs I've heard. I love the violin, and I love when it's creatively fused with metal/jazz etc. I really don't like when EDM-tracks are stuck under violin music, and the other songs were a bit too reminiscent of that for me (though they've been a lot better than that, of course). First listen, but this could end up being one of those crazily creative songs that I can't stop coming back to, like A New Picture by Koiai, for example. Edit: Okay, it seems this is only the third track on the album, so I guess I can't have missed any of your other reactions to it yet.

Yes, I'm basically just starting out with this album ;) But like you I really enjoy the unique creativity on this song and Koiai - A New Picture is a great comparison! I don't dislike the combination with EDM, but out of these first 3 songs jinXnij (the EDM one) is definately the least interesting to me.

(Edit I put this before you went through the full track, so I guess I agree with your take) This track gives me major Japanese video game OST (especially JRPG) vibes every time I hear it. It actually reminds me of some tracks I have heard in the past, but I can't put my finger on from which OST. There are some other tracks on this album that give me that vibe as well actually. And since I used to import a bunch of Japanese video game OSTs way before I dove into their rock/metal it makes sense that I really like that aspect of the album, I think this is a great track.
