Minus, i love all your analytics to this topic and it shows you love Pokémon as much as i do. Ash is one of the main figures in anime i grew up watching, saw him from start to finish, and the knowledge you gave for his ultimate teams spoke to me on a personal level and i loved it. Your ideas of his ultimate teams for both with and without starters perfectly matched what i was thinking with them and the way you broke it down made even more sense. Ash is definitely one of my favorite icons of anime and my childhood and you did him justice by breaking down his teams like this. I give you as many thumbs up as his number of Pokémon. You should do an analysis on both of his ultimate teams against any of Red's teams next to see who is the best candidate for Pokémon master.

I know a lot of people won't agree but I would definitely put Melmetal in there. He is quite literally a beast! Can out power almost anyone. Sure, he doesn't have much experience but just in those 2-3 fights he showed insane amounts of skill and power. So, my ultimate team would be Lucario, Snorlax, Meltmetal, Dragonite, Gengar, and finally one of Lycanroc/Krookodile

Snorlax belongs on this team because its Ash's third strongest Kanto mon besides Pikachu and Charizard and its the only one of Ash's mons to solo a Frontier Brain, however, Dracovish belongs on this team too because its the strongest (If not second strongest) Journeys team member (Alongside Sirfetch'd). Lycanroc belongs on this team too, because it solo'd a Kahuna (Yes... you can make the argument Kingler solo'd a league opponent during Kanto, but honestly, they shouldn't be stronger than Kahuna's and Frontier Brains).

I’d put Talonflame in there, in place of Lycanroc.. Sure Lycanroc is a decent Pokemon when you take away the fact it’s biggest feat was a victory in a league where literally anyone could enter without any prior experience, but Talonflame offers a bit more type coverage, which means it’d destroy that Bulletproof Chesnaught that would’ve otherwise came in and destroyed 4/6 of Ash’s team.. 😂

I would replace Lucario however, since without Mega Evolution, feat wise, it isn't as strong (It has never defeated any Elite 4 or Champion Pokemon without the use of Mega Evolution, unlike its Journeys teammembers Sirfetch'd, Dracovish and Dragonite) and Gengar doesn't belong on this list either (By sheer proxy of being the weakest Journeys member in terms of feats).

tbh... winrate is a shitty rate to determine the strenght of a Pokemon. Like... if we look at winrate... Charizard and Pikachu are mediocre mons because they have a bad winrate... however... its kinda obvious... because if you battle more, you also lose more. Thats why you need to look at feats only... another example is Talonflame having a lower winrate than Hawlucha, despite Talonflame literally having been the ace of the Kalos team (It battled the most Gym Leaders out of all the Kalos mons and despite that, only went down in one gym and league match without taking another mon with him and it took down a mon with him in the others). Another example why Winrate is shitty is that during Unova, Ash deliberatly send out Leavanny to weaken Sawk and it was even flat out mentioned that without Leavanny, Krookodile wouldn't have been able to defeat Sawk. So imo... that win should have gone to Leavanny too, since it was a huge contribution factor for the win.

It actually is confirmed that some people from Ultra Megalopolis would have Poipole be their first partner. So technically it is a starter, but it’s never been one for the player; not in the main series or the spin-offs. Excluding that, the only Pokémon that have been starters are the obvious 3 from each region, as well as Pikachu & Eevee.

There's a pretty solid argument to be made that Pikachu is Ash's strongest Pokemon, and unquestionably his most reliable partner
