I was 9 years old in 1994 and I remember going to a mustang show with our club and seeing a red sn95 convert for the first time and just fell in love with it. I thought it was the coolest looking car at 9 years old. So while I appreciate the new edge, there’s a special place for the first time I saw the sn95 body. It’s why I own a 1996 saleen cobra. It’s the best look car of 90’s in my opinion.

@ I got super lucky getting the saleen. This guy posted it 2 years ago on Craigslist for $16k. Only 23,000 original miles. I thought it was a fake ad. I literally got in my truck, ditched work and didn’t even tell my boss and started to drive the 5 hour trip to Portland Oregon. When I got there, the guy was selling it because his 16 year old kid thought it was a gay car and wanted an bmw lol. So he sold the car to me and used the money to build a shop instead of a bmw for his kid😂

At the age of 11! In 1995, my dad had this exact spec cobra. One of the biggest highlights of my life was him letting me drive it away from school on the last day of school! As a 6th grader, I remember my heart pounding when he gave me the keys and all my friends and half the school watching. He would take me to open roads and parking lots and let me dump the clutch and bang some gears. Still would love to find one and get it for him one day.

I was a kid when these came out. My parents actually went to a Ford SVT dealer in Indiana and were going to buy a mystic cobra. We test drove a white cobra I think and my dad was talking to the salesman and mentioned we had a gravel driveway. Salesman mentioned that if the paint was scratched or chipped the whole car had to be repainted for it to look right. We bought the white one that we were test driving instead lol

Glad you finally reviewed a nice boosted 96-98 cobra! And although you’re right about the car being over looked in the past, but in the past 10yrs these cars are actually being more sought after and a lot more people have been going crazy with 94-98 sn95 builds, mostly because of dollar/performance ratio… but more people have been appealed to this chassis now in days, and aesthetic aftermarket has also grown for the 94-98 mustangs. I would highly recommend you reviewing block_monster1’s supercharged coyote swapped 96 cobra, in my opinion it is one of the best examples of what a clean sn95 can look like, not that this one is bad, because it’s actually really fucking nice, and I am a big fan of the mystic and b-head motor

If memory serves that paint option was an extra $3,000 on top of the Cobra price. There was one in the Kernersville Ford Dealership when I lived there back I the day. They also had a few classics in storage for the "right" price.

My first new car was an ‘88 Mustang GT. I was 19 years old. 7 years later, my ‘88 GT has a Vortech supercharged 357 stroker (3rd motor, after a lot of street/strip racing) and a Motorsport 5-speed (5th transmission… Turns out; 3rd gear doesn’t like drag radials.). I decided I wanted a new ‘95 GT (I got black, with a black leather interior) with the 5-speed. It seemed like it took a lot more effort to make it faster…. But the best looking “SALEEN body kit” definitely has to be the SN95! Best money I’ve ever spent! Even the SALEEN convertible looks great! As far as the ‘One of….” Topic: It’s interesting in some cases. I own a 1LE Camaro that is 51U color coded (Yellow), which has T-Tops. One of only three ever made like that. One was “recycled” in 1990. The other hasn’t been registered since 1994. So, is my car interesting? Maybe to me. Maybe not, to others who watch your channel.

The old edge soft body sn95 is my absolute favorite and preferred body style of sn95 over the new edge

I had a 97 Cobra, and 03 Cobra (stupidly sold it 12 years ago), and now an 01 Cobra project. The 4v engines just sound amazing and I loved driving those cars. My 1997 just had a few bolt ons, 4.10 gears, and Bassani catback exhaust. It really changed the car and added to the fun factor. The terminator has a ported Eaton and bolt ons and Bassani X and catback. I never dyonoed it but it felt great to drive. I decided a few years ago to snag another Cobra after being out of the game for 10 years as I just love the cars. In the mid 00's I was in a club and there were tons of SVT vehicles in the club with a mystic Cobra and a Msystichrome in the club. It's unfortunate that I almost never see Cobras on the road anymore. There is an 03 that I will see around town occasionally. I never see SN95 or 99/01 Cobras on the road. On Toyo tires, they were the first to actually hook for me on my Terminator on the street. It actually made my car scary again because the tires didn't blow off. Very good tires!

Saw the post on MCOA, had to come watch. 4.6 Mod Motors were and still are the best sounding Ford V8. 96-98 personally is my favorite body. And yes, 2-4 are where it’s at in them. First gear is just a tire spinner. 5th gear they fall flat on their face. I thought 4.10s would help with the 5th. But nope. It just lowered the speed at which it became a dog down to 110-115 instead of 130.

That's always been one of my top favorite cars. I always wanted one but I couldn't find one in my price range. I did find a very common black 97 Cobra that was in my budget, which I did buy. It's still the most enjoyable car I've ever owned, and I hope to get into another sn95. I sure do miss those sounds!

Good friend in high school had a 1995 GT but his older brothers both had cobras. One was a 95 I think that had the 5.0, the others were 4.6. I was able to drive those cars quite a bit and that’s what got my into mustangs back then. 30 years later I have a 800 wheel s550. Good times!

This is a 4.6 b head 4v that has been built with forged internals and punched out to a 5.0. That is why it sounds that way it isnt a pushrod 5.0 lol. Youd think a mustang guy would know that lol

Always wanted a new edge. Ended up with a 97 cobra coupe and I slowly fell in absolute love with it. It was fun it was reliable as hell never let me down. But I sold it and got a 03 terminator coupe now and it’s a totally different beast. The terminator is so fast and it gets so much attention and love. I absolutely love it, it was a dream to own one now I have one. But that 97 carved a little piece of my heart out when it left me. I miss that 97 cobra. I’m probably going to get another sooner than later. New edge looks better in my opinion but sn95s are amazing.

Remember they has two 2004 mystic Chrome Cobra's at my local Ford dealer, one convert and one hard top. The hard top was 42k Canadian, and the convert was 47k Canadian. Brand New. They also had a Mach 1 for 37k.

The 94 redesign was the first to go back to the vintage Mustang look, after we had to deal with the same fox body design for 15 years. So I'm not sure why people say it's "hated". I remember reading car magazines at the time of the "edge" redesign though, saying it was ugly. And I agreed with that. The edge style just looked like they were half trying to do something new, but failed because they didn't put enough money into it.

Yes I had a 96S 281 Saleen white with black interior with a white top there was about 436 of those made that year and from what I understand there was only a handful of us to with a white top literally I think there was under five of made.
