Great tips! Personally for things like Tip 7, when intersecting another mask I like to use intersect with object instead of subject. Then I can paint exactly what I want where subject will often grab some unwanted areas that you have to brush out like it did with your bird nest. Using object for me makes it more precise and saves a potential step of getting rid of areas after.

I am beginning to struggle a little bit with the one I have, because of the latest version of Lightroom, calling for more computer's resources, so that, I am starting to think of changing it. Thanks, Juan

For Tip #2 there shouldn't be any reason to do the linear gradient if you are going to select the whole image with no gradient and then intersect with the luminance mask. Just go straight to the luminance mask and adjust there, you end up with the same selection. Nice tips though, I always learn something watching other people's work flow. Thanks,

Why you draw a mask in the entire picture with the gradient and then intersect with luminosity range (to remove dark parts) instead of just simply selecting highlights with the luminosity range?
@thaticelandicguy9 ай бұрын
that's a great idea, never thought of it, just always done it like this. Would that make the transition (gradient) from the shadows to highlights as smooth? That's what I'm after. I don't want a sharp edge on the highlights but a gradient decline of the mask from the shadows. That's what really sells the effect imo.
@TheChannelling9 ай бұрын
@@thaticelandicguy if you use the same luminance settings (the feathering and full intensity sliders) just simply inverted it should mathematically be the same. If they are not, well I would need to go full nerd on this because that does not make any sense to my brain😂

The pro tip, is learn and really hone in on the skills of balancing light. All pro photos seem crystal clear, while those who aren't, don't have that crystal clear crisp look. whatever the theme and subject. Color balance and light. It's not tools, or tricks on how-to's. It's what all are looking for, but it has to be learned, not just fixed with a tool or one click or one slider. I guess no pro's want to reveal that =P

Hi. I love watching your videos and I find them very helpful. I just recently purchased the Sony a6700 and a SD V90 card. I'm having issues playing back the 10 bit 4k footage that I recorded on my computer. It is very choppy when I try to play it back. How do you view your 10 bit 4k Sony footage on your computer? I was hoping to be able to record in the highest 10 bit 4k quality but currently I can't play it without it being choppy so I really hope maybe you can help me.
@linminhtoo2 ай бұрын
does it have to do with the frame rate that it was recorded with? another suspicion is your computer is lacking either the necessary video codecs to play it, or the file is too heavy on your hardware and your computer is struggling to render the frames fast enough.
