Being a western anime fan, it's cool to see how differently anime is perceived and spread in Japan. Anime/educational shows like Cells at Work being in textbooks and used as study material is extremely rare in, for instance, the US. And though there were only a few participants in this quiz, it seems Renai Circulation is not as recognizable in Japan as it is internationally, along with Elfen Lied.
@netako3 жыл бұрын
The fact that Renai Circulation has been streamed more than 56 million times on Spotify as I'm writing this comment clearly shows that this OP is much more famous outside of Japan (legal music streaming services are much less popular in Japan compared to the rest of the world, in fact, Spotify wasn't available in Japan until 2016!).

I heard that 33% of Japanese watch anime and 41% don't watch anime...idk if 33% is a small number (I suck at math) but maybe that's why also, Japanese elders/adults don't really watch a lot of anime as teenagers/kids do shows like pretty cure, detective Conan both are very popular in Japan but not in the west (sadly, cause they are both very good series that definitely need more attention). Even other shows like Sazae-san, Chibi Maruko-chan, and Doraemon are popular over there among the older people.

@@nurhusni Its not abomination, rough edges yes. Abomination heck no.. all the epic, sad and emotional moments translate very well in the anime and for those reason and a few others it's good.

I would really like you to do the anime songs' review videos as I feel there is a lot of nuance to the expressions, idioms and way of expression in the lyrics of many songs. I am a beginner in Japanese and can understand Japanese to around 40%-60% depending on the context while watching the anime ( of course I might be more dependent on the subtitles if the topic under discussion is something I'm not familiar with). I naturally like to learn new languages and I'm able to identify the differences in expressions, nuances based on politeness or dialect, etc. But I may not necessarily understand the actual meaning every time even though I'm able to identify and ballpark the meaning to a certain extent.

The only songs I got were Evangeleon and Re: Zero. I want to watch the Monogatari series, but I just don't have time for it right now.

I was so happy when they recognized Hataraku Saibou! And surprised that more of them didn’t know Renai Circulation. I haven’t watched Anohana or Re:Zero so I didn’t know the songs but I got them from the clues (it’s about a dead girl, and the second season just came out) lol Also - GODDAMN YUTA WITH THE PIPES AT THE END
