That IS a lot of reading for a story book! 💀 These are really cool. Please keep going with the story books. :) I almost bought the vintage Toht the year the retro figures came out. I'd love to have the entire ROTLA collection. I really want the Cairo Marketplace playset. That would be the bee's knees. Thanks for the video

These kinds of books were great before the age of the internet when we didn't have a lot of ways to see pictures from movies we liked.

Raiders came out when I was 12. I found a way to see it 7 times in the theater. We finally got it on VHS for Christmas 1983. The tape had the teaser trailer for The Temple Of Doom!

Yo Junkman. You got a PO Box? I have this book and I'll send it to you if you want it. Found it at a used bookstore for 99 cents.

I always like Capt. Katanga. I would go to see a spin off movie about him, his crew and his ship. They all seemed like they lived an exciting life - and cool in the face of danger.

That would be awsome. :)

I had several of these Scholastic movie books, but not the one for Raiders. Looks sweet! I did have a comic book version of Raider though, where it showed how Indy somehow survived a trip tethered to the submarine periscope with his whip. Which I'm not sure happened in the movie. I think somehow he got on the sub IIRC?

Toht is pronounced Toe with a 'T' at the end.

I always pronounced it as "tote."

@tperson8347 in all my life that movie is the only place I've heard that as a name. Sometime within the last 2 weeks I saw it pop up. It is a real name and I can't remember where I saw it

@tperson8347 update: Alex Toth (1928-2006): An influential American cartoonist known for his work in comic books and animation. He had to have came up in the Frank Frazetta documentary I watched this week. It's spelled differently, but it seemed like they pronounced it the same.

I'm still hung up on the cover photo. Not really an indicative image of the movie as a whole. Does the Temple of Doom's cover have him in his room eating an apple?

Toht was one of the faces that was melted in the end, which was satisfying to see I must say. Just my 2 cents

It's pronounced like Tote, NOT Taught. Hearing the back and forth between these two names is as annoying as the back and forth between A-T-S-T and ATST. 😖
