It's rare that I comment on videos, but I sure appreciate your channel. I always come to your channel right before I do a drywall job. I've been a carpenter for 40 years and always do my own drywall and mud on my jobs. I usually get pretty decent by the end of the job and then don't do drywall again for months. Your videos remind me of what I'm doing. Thank you.

For a complete novice, I'm buggered how to fill the flat joint with a flexible blade. The slightest pressure on the final wipe takes off too much mud. Would love to know how to avoid this

ah! Sweet! You put a link. I work for a general contractor, and recently saved him 9k by doing the drywall in-house. He was so happy about it,he wants to buy me a speed tool set. Instead of going to the supplier and buying the Columbia set, I thought of you, and want to buy a level 5 set. If you have anything to tell me or anything, lemme know. I'll get you my contact info. Thanks.

Can you do a video on what you generally do if you've already primed the drywall after using mud and you then notice blemishes. Thanks

All you do is fix them as if it was new drywall and re-prime.

How do you fill any voids or knicks after it's all coated and sanded? I usually just fill it with plus 3 and cut it hard, but it always leaves a tiny raised patch on the wall, worried it'll show through without texture.
@ThatKiltedGuyDIY2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I pretty much just fill the voids and wipe it tight and then you usually need to do one final sanding if you’re doing Level 5. If you are doing Level 5 watch my video for a tip on tinting your mud and why you need to do the final sanding. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoWZqWqtnrVgl6M

Great way of putting it, getting the gremlins off. We can it the brush off coat. Should be able to buff off the first coat 10000 ft in thirty minutes. I hate sanding, I personally would rather use a knife and scrape, wouldn’t recommend to novice, probably scratch drywall.
@ThatKiltedGuyDIY2 жыл бұрын
Yeah a lot of times I scrape but honestly, sanding is just faster and sometimes there are spots where you actually need to sand because it’s a little too thick or globby. www.ThatKiltedGuy.com
