Dollar Tree Thanksgiving Dinner | 2022 Edition 🦃

Hey friends! In this video I decided to make a Thanksgiving dinner using only ingredients (minus spices) from the Dollar Tree!
The Dollar Tree isn't always the best value compared to places like Walmart or Aldi, but these videos are more about accessibility, food access, and getting creative with a limited grocery selection.
Dishes included homemade stuffing, homemade green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, chicken in gravy, brown sugar glazed carrots, biscuits, and homemade chipwiches.

They say impersonation is the highest form of flattery.. I call BS on that saying but… it is what it is .. I love the idea of making the chicken and gravy to top the potato wells! I usually just add the chicken to my dressing to make it an all in one type casserole dish but I think since we don’t celebrate thanksgiving, we will be trying this idea soon! I also thought it would be delicious over those drop biscuits like a biscuits and gravy type dinner.. thank you for all the awesome frugal ideas!

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but if you search $1 or lower food in the Walmart app search bar, so many full size food items will come up for ordering and store pickup. My Thanksgiving dinner didn’t all come from Dollar Tree but some of it did. Sautéed surimi and chicken flavored ramen noodles, peach ginger black tea and canned fruit for dessert. Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving Day It’s not what you eat but being grateful for what you have.

Shoutout to those of us who ate holiday dinners from the dollar store before they got the frozen section lol. That was so much harder! It’s so wonderful they have freezer food now. It changes things and really opens up more options. I’ve gotten hot pockets from the dollar store before.

I am not in the USA but every year I look forward to the Thanksgiving videos on KZbin. They are trying to push Halloween and that is a holiday I do not enjoy but Thanksgiving is only celebrated by the local resident Americans and I really wish the rest of us would take it up as well. For years I Have made my stuffing from toasted bread celery, onion sausage and butter and broth and poultry seasoning. lots of it and olives and pepper. Ma Ma's recipe may she rest in peace.

I tried to do something similar to that and it just didn't taste right to me. I am not sure if I got the wrong kind of sausage or what, but it did not turn out well for me. I basically just do stove top anymore with half of the liquids because we don't like ours mushy and we seem to like that for our family. I think it is about what you like personally too.

I don't remember what you made last year, but I wonder if you might consider trying apple crisp, which is more of a holiday dessert, if you haven't already. There is apple sauce, freeze dried apples, oats, raisins, cinnamon and nuts at The Dollar Tree along with whipped topping. 🙂 Lisa Dawn, you are the queen of budget friendly meals, including holiday dinners!!! You always make sure everything is as tasty as possible, which proves that "cheap" doesn't have to mean "bland". 🍁 🍂🍁 P.S. I have found that the oil mixture actually tastes better with baked goods than straight up olive oil.

This is so me I’m 43 I’ve been in the kitchen cooking since I was 7 years old. By the time I was 12 I could cut up a whole chicken and fry it making Sunday dinner. I love to experiment and make dishes my own. I’m also all about the cheapest way possible! I love this channel

Those potatoes made me think of Duchess potatoes. To me the idea of Thanksgiving is family and/or friends gathering together and reflecting on what in you lives you can be grateful for. I have never seen one of these videos before but I really appreciate you leaving things in the video that didn't work out as well as you would have liked and the pans you use look like you have used them before. I love the Monterrey Jack cheese from The Dollar Tree. I used to work at Petsmart and there was one next to us and I would go there and get my snacks and grab some cheese too.

I love dollar tree, never shopped at dollar general, but dollar tree is my go- to, then Walmart, Aldi, and Schnucks in a dire moment. lol I love that you go with the flow, which is what I do, don't try to make everything perfect.
