I still can't believe these videos are free. Nichole your Beyonce dance is still my FAVORITE thing I've seen on skates ❤️😍 Also, are you still actively skating when you spin, or are you sorta coasting on momentum?

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I didn't think i could do this spin but because you broke it down in three parts i was able to get it!!! I mean i still need some practice but i get a good 3 spins out of 5 when i try. Hopefully soon ill get the courage to join one of the beginner dance class.

Nicole, THANK YOU! I finally learned how to do the heel-toe spin because of this video! Before this I could only spin for 1 rotation before falling out of it because I kept putting my weight only on my dominant foot. After following your drills, I could finally spin twice! Also, the best arm position that works for me is to put them behind my head like you would hold your hat:) I find that crossing my arms in front of my chest hunches me forward, making me stumble.

Amazing! So happy I could help! That’s also great to hear about the arm position 🥰

Hi Nicole! I learned a two food turn with you today and I'm so pleased. Thaaanks! Just to be sure about my next step - I come from modern/contemporary dance - and I ask myself how there is no spotting...? What do you do to not get dizzy?

I'm practicing this now I'm trying not to be wobbling and how do I control the dizziness?

After spinning one way, spin the other way
@mudpumpkin12173 жыл бұрын
sorta late answer but- i am a ballet dancer and what you do so you don't get dizzy is you spot! that means you fix your eyes to a point in the distance, typically in the direction where you want to end the turn, and move your head faster than the rest of your body. try to always keep your eyes fixed on the spot you picked and swing your head around really quickly. i'm sure there are tutorials on spotting in dance on youtube, it's the same with skating! :)

Does anyone know what toe stops she uses? I’m looking for smaller/shorter ones that’ll be easier for tricks like this.

If i spin naturally to the right, does it matter which foot has the toe and heel down to better turn into the spin? You mentioned spinning towards the left so I'm gonna recap which foot was doing what. I would like to drill both directions as i learn, as i know the consequence of only learning my dominant side with my hoop dance. Wanted to learn too much too fast then had to backtrack to teach with my non native side. Sigh. Lesson learned if conscious about it drill both sides when learning new moves.

Okay, so I have a quick question. What is the best way to prep for a heel/toe spin in a programme (is that what choreography is called in roller skating? I'm an ice skater, so I dunno :/)
@elliotbryant34595 жыл бұрын
Do heavy skates weigh enough to impact your weight distribution when you are trying to do things like camel spins?
@ThatNicoleFiore5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! But as long as you know your skates and wear the same ones while learning, it should work out. What skates do you have?
@elliotbryant34595 жыл бұрын
@@ThatNicoleFiore I wear size 10 suede Riedell's with Powerdyne Reactor Neo plates [plates are 8 ounces each] + wheels, -and grind blocks... So it all kind of adds up!

Aah so the knees have to be slightly bent all the time?😮😮...I've been practicing the 2 foot spin 🌪 but I keep loosing balance (probably due to my poor posture 😅)...I really want to be able to spin like it's no one's business lol💃🏻⛸😭...however I feel like I have been improving ☺️
@ThatNicoleFiore5 жыл бұрын
Yup! Always keep the knees slightly bent so you can force weight down into the ground! It’ll happen eventually!!
@CycleTimeChart4 жыл бұрын
Nicole, are your feet staggered during the spin? It appears to me that the skate with the heel on the floor may be an inch or two ahead of the other skate, but this is hard to see at the rotational speed in this video. If there is a stagger, maybe you can describe trade-offs relating to amount of stagger. PS - It takes me 10 minutes to walk to the bar, and 30 minutes to walk back. The difference is STAGGERING !
@ThatNicoleFiore4 жыл бұрын
CycleTimeChart First of all, you’re hilarious, thank you for that!!! Second, possibly! The front foot (heel) aims in the direction of your rotation, so it will probably be a bit ahead of the other, you’re right!
