Pete, I've only been playing for a few years, but have increased my string gauges continuously. I'm not certain about the tone, but feel the guitar experience is better with heavier strings. Chords seem to be easier to play, they seem to stay in tune better, muting seems easier and the overall guitar seems more robust and less delicate with heavier strings. Of course, it's a personal choice depending on your style. But, heavier seems to be a better fit for me. Best of luck with the pedal. 1 suggestion - make the letters on the control panel black. Chrome is so difficult to see....when you're old like me :-)

In addition to Mick and Pete, I also liked Pete and Ariel Posen, and Mick and Ariel Posen - cannot remember if the three of them were ever there together. Now I watch the occasional Andertons video (watched one yesterday in which Rob Chapman again did a staggeringly accurate job identifying Marshall and Marshall sound-alike amps), but find them mostly tedious. Apparently they are changing their way of doing things - let's hope it makes things more interesting.

Lol, good point about him not being a pedal guy but he is still a total tone geek when it come to amps and using the guitar controls to sculpt the tone. It might be fun to have a "no pedal" Pedal Show, and perhaps it could be a challenge to see if 'we' can find a pedal that he likes or 'must have'.

Informative and extremely entertaining. Hoping the urchins were retrieved successfully. Also, it happened again. Our lead singer has been wrestling with his guitar sounds ... I bought a beautiful Telecaster Professional last year. I walked into Guitar Center intending to buy a wha wha and walked out with a gorgeous all rosewood neck Tele... Under the pick guard I noticed it was already routed for a middle pick so I went ahead and installed one. Now it's a "Nashville Telecaster". Although it's really convenient to have those Strat tones I feel I have somehow defiled it. It took away the mojo, that reason you play a Tele, the simplicity. I think I'll put it back to stock...
