Lot of respect for Yamaha. Motorcycles, snowmobiles, jet boats, marine outboards, jet skis, Lexus, Ford, Toyota, singles, twins, triples, fours, V-4s, V-6s, V-8's, V-10s. Why not ? In the late 80s, F1 cars made 1300hp from a 1.5L turbo engine during qualifying, and were on full noise for half of that 2 min lap. This ski only has to make 1500hp for a few seconds, and it has unlimited cooling. Thus, 1500hp seems on the mark.

Cooling is " very limited" ... Yeah I mostly believe that 1500 but really it still sounds bananas to me ... 1500 hp in a shoebox, personally I'm surprised it can accelerate on water 40-140 in 3 seconds still.

I raced in the 90s and early 2000s stand ups and GPs in the Buoy Class and owned 1 of the 3 Riva Racing 86 mph triple piped yamaha Gp1200s that held the world record for a Long Time, 86 was Fast on a small ski 142. Wow. I would drive this Gp1800 if i could hell yea. I can say 1 of those skis is in the Northern Parts of Michigan not saying exact location but 142 mph. Wow. I am also surprised they didn't even sand their hulls for extra speed Amazing Hats off to Your TEAM!!

DAMN!!! In early 2000's, I was able to get a 2-Stroke Ultra 150 up to 74 MPH with moderate effort. A Park Ranger used to use a traffic laser and and S-80 traffic radar to confirm what my ancient Garman GPS was showing. I tried doing the same thing with a 2001 GP 1200R without triple piping or putting bigger pistons in it but never came close. What they are doing with 4-Strokes is mind-blowing.

There are a lot of 4 cyl JDMS making 1500hp lol, its not hard to believe. 75+ pounds of boost, intake air temps extremely low because of the water cooling stays the temp of the lake, and a 200 shot of nitrous too. 1500hp would only be 1200 wheel hp on a car and there's tons of 4 cyl making more than 1200 wheel on cars

LOL that makes 2 of us brother, it just sounds cool, but then again, Yamaha does make some of the best engines in the world. There's really no transmission and very little stress on the crank because it's a propeller / jet drive doesn't take very much stress to drive it so pretty much spinning freely with little resistance. That with methanol spooling the turbo no shifting 75/lbs I guess I can see it. Certainly wouldn't take long to drain the tank.
