The sound of The 2.6 RB26 is awesome. Yet when I heavily N/A modded my 2.8 VR6 people in MKIV Supras, Evo's, etc. would come up to me and tell me they wished their car could sound like Chewbacca and a Lion fighting it out. It was nice to get that kind of respect from people who own cars that could eat my car as a minor entree for dinner.

@@subieguy2075 Thank you. I loved how Subies sounded when they had uneven headers on them and someone would put an exhaust up/down pipe. Sounded rowdy as hell. I was told Subaru stopped putting Uneven headers on their cars, is this true? The 12v VR6's sound comes from the fact it is a 15 degree angle engine. The + You can fit a 6 cylinder in a small engine bay. The - a 15 angle flows horribly and the engine is what I believe is called an "under square" design which also limit's its N/A performance. However the internals of the VR6 were originally designed to be a Turbo diesel 6 and at the last minute it was changed to a gas engine. Which means that its internals are forged and have handled 450whp without having to change anything in the engine. The transmission, axles, half shafts, etc. well that's a different story.

I don't get it! Is it legal to modefy a car in the states as much as you like? I mean her in Denmark it's only allowed to increase your HP with 20%. Otherwise you have to pay more tax + the car has to go to inspection to make sure the brakes etc. is okay to handle the more power.

it depends on the state you're in, they all have different laws. in florida, you can pretty much register whatever you want and modify it however you want. this car was imported illegally, as it is not in compliance with federal US safety and emissions standards. you are only exempt from those standards if the vehicle is 25 years or older, therefore this car is federally illegal. however florida state laws allow you to register it since their laws are extremely lax. as far as modifications, it also depends on the state. some states have annual inspections, such as california, where they will test the OBD system and visually inspect it for any engine modifications. there are SOME exemptions, such as 'limited production' vehicles. meaning if only like 200 of the model was produced, you can import it as a show/collectors car.
