Mizzou needs to be playing Kansas every year, in every sport. It’s the oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi. Goes back to civil war beefs. Needs to be played. I think we should open up the season every year with them. Do what he said with Nebraska, home and home and Arrowhead in KC every third year. Can’t wait for next season. MI FUCKIN Z

It's the only rivalry in college athletics that each opponent actually completely burned down towns (Lawrence, KS in 1863 & Oseola, MO in 1861) and murdered each other's citizens.
@adamowen36610 ай бұрын
@@michaelhart6318 Mizzou is also named after a regime of Union soldiers that protected Columbia. They were nicknamed the fighting tigers, so the university adopted it and we became the Missouri Tigers.
@ericwilper376310 ай бұрын
@@michaelhart6318 Stop with the inaccurate rhetoric. No one at the University of Missouri or the University of Kansas burned any towns or murdered anyone. The people back then that actually did were Redlegs and Bushwhackers. John Brown didn't go to KU and William Quantrill sure as hell didn't go to Mizzou.

As a Mizzou Fan (MU'76) i stook in a line with OU fans for the Big12 championship in San Antonio 10 years ago. They were a delight. They ltrashed us and were very polite afterwards. I've zero problems with OU fans.

@ThatSECPodcast I was never a fan of JD Pickell. That interview you had with him was really good. It gave me a completely new perspective on him, & his love of the game. I love the human element you get in these one on one interviews. Cousin Shane is the best. I love you two feeding off each other, it's hilarious. I actually don't care about anybody except my teams, but since you guys are so entertaining I've learned a ton about the SEC I didn't know before & makes the games much more enjoyable to watch. I am really mad at Shane though, that he didn't drink those beers after possibly the worst Homer take against Mizzou. I love Steven as well. He's very insightful & smart. I never miss an episode of the podcast. Just thought you should know your efforts are appreciated.

In my years as a Mizzou student (mid 70's...) Missouri not only faced a very tough Big Eight schedule, but non-conference opponents were: Notre Dame, North Carolina, Baylor, Arizona St, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Alabama, Mississippi, USC, and Ohio State... of those top teams, the Tigers defeated Notre Dame, NC, Baylor, AZ St, Wisconsin, Illinois, USC, Ohio State, and... Alabama. No second-tier non-conference opponents. In 1975, soon-to-be-crowned national champion Oklahoma came from behind and scored a late touchdown and two-point conversion to beat Mizzou by one point. Those were the days

I've always believed in Coach Drink, and have never waivered from it. I knew he was a rock star when he was still with Appalachian State, and was tickled pink when the Tigers hired him as our coach. I can think of a very short list of coaches I would take a head of him, and his name is Kirby Smart...Well, and Nick Saban. Now that Saban has gone and retired, Eli is the 2nd best coach in the SEC, and if you disagree, I'll fight you on that.

I don’t think Mizzou has a glass ceiling unlike others. I’m not sold on Drink and they lost a generational talent at RB for that program. Brady Cook was solid but that was mainly because of the threat of Schrader. They will have a good year come September but I just don’t see them as a playoff team. I’m also not an expert, so there’s that. 🤷🏻♂️
@Thisismyhandle838310 ай бұрын
Fair assessment. I think the main thing you’re overlooking is the improvement of the o-line. Cook and Schrader consistently gave them the credit. Mizzou’s o-line should be elite again. Can’t replace schrader tho, so you’re right about that.
@robertnicholas764710 ай бұрын
It's all about the run game. But i think the pass game will improve enough to cover a lesser RB. I'm worried about the D.

Schrader is the Mizzou RB GOAT..I think we beat Georgia If Cook don’t throw that INT to that Georgia D lineman because Schrader was just starting to get hot in that game..He was unstoppable the drive b4 the INT
@johnparker858810 ай бұрын
I’d rather beat Arkansas than Kansas or Any other team. For many years, Arkansas has looked down in Missouri always thinking they were superior in football. However, they never played so it was all just bull. When Mizzou whipped Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl hog fans said yeah but our coach wasn’t there. They scoffed at the idea of Mizzou entering the SEC saying just another Vandy. Mizzou wins the SEC East two years in a row and Hog fans and media say yes but the East is weak. Then they started playing Arkansas annually and have dominated the Piggies. And Hog fans and media say yes but we don’t care about that game and they do. Even now after such domination by Missouri they won’t give Mizzou any credit. So please keep their sorry program down at the bottom where they deserve to be.
