Fun Facts - Johnny Diesel, who's real name is - Mark Denis Lizotte, was actually born in Fall River, Massachusetts, in May 1966! He emigrated to Australia in 1971 at the age of 5 with his parents. He was 23yo when he released this song in 1989. The song peaked at Number 10 on the Australian Singles charts. This was the third single release from their debut album, 'Johnny Diesel & The Injectors', which peaked at Number 2 on the Australian Album charts. 'Crying In Shame' also became their third consecutive Top 10 single from the album. The album was actually recorded in Memphis, Tennessee. Oh and Jimmy Barnes is his brother in law!

I’ve seen Diesel play live many times and besides having one of our best voices he is also one of our best guitarists. And the bloke is so brilliant he never plays the same song the same way twice. Constantly improvising at high speed. Just genius to watch and listen to. I think our youtuber would enjoy the deep soul of ‘Come to Me’.

I had a scrapbook of him , we were going to marry but he missed the memo 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I’ve been lucky to see him in small venues and his talent kicks the roof off of those. Diesel learnt how to play the guitar from a cello, his father was a music teacher and taught him cello. He spun it sideways and was introduced to guitar. The rest is history, one of the greatest guitarists the world has ever seen. He was found by Jimmy Barnes after his wife saw him front jonny diesel and the injectors. Barnsey asked to lead guitar on his tour and Diesel said only if with can be the warm up band. He came out with the injectors playing left handed guitar, the came out with Barnsey playing right handed guitar. Diesel is a guitar/ musician/ song writing God.

Diesel was the first concert I ever went to back in1989. I’m from Perth, Western Australia and was 15yo at the time. His debut album was one of the first I ever bought and still love the album today. Funny thing is, about 6 months after, I discovered hip hop music and that started my life long love of old school rap. Love what you do. Cheers from Western Australia brother.

Crying shame was a top of the charts song in 89. He has had his share of chart songs over the years here in OZ.
