This concert is considered to be one of the top 5 filmed concerts of all time. The band at the time were also considered to be one of the biggest and best bands in the world. Hunt out the entire concert if you can it will blow you away from start to finish, I promise!

The whole concert, from the very first to the very last note, is so f-king amazing. That voice, so smooth, so unique, so powerful... such a skilled and incredibly talented singer. You can clearly see, hear and FEEL how much fun they are having on the stage... the energy of the band, the energy of the crowd, Michael's energy. He has the crowd in the palm of his hand, everyone, until the very last row... his stage presence, he was a real frontman, one of a kind. Sadly, gone too soo 😥

My wife and I were fortunate to see INXS in a relatively small venue at the begining of the KICK tour. They would never be seen again in a place so small as they became the biggest act in the world. Mikel Hutchins was easily one of the greatest front man ever in rock. He had a silky smooth voice with a distinçtive tone. The band was the best musical ensemble I've ever seen in concert and I've almost seen them all. Without their songs all sounding alike, they were easily identifiable as soon as you heard them. They wrote great lyrics and melodies. I'm a big fan and I'm so glad I got to see them live.

Michael was cremated and his ashes split three ways. His father’s portion were scattered over the Pacific from Sydney. A portion was given to his then-girlfriend Paula Yates, who he had a child with. Yates died of a drug overdose in 2000; her portion of Michael’s ashes are probably with the daughter (or stuck in Bob Geldof’s basement, who knows). The third portion was given to Michael’s mother who donated them to INXS’s “American fans,” and they are buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills (Los Angeles).

Hello Nic - I realise you are spending a lot of time catching up with the requests that people have made, and maybe the last thing you want to do in your free time is watch videos/tv programmes, BUT . . . the Michael Hutchence story is incredible, sad, uplifting, heart-breaking, amazing. If you would like to learn more about the person I highly recommend that you find the 'ABC Australia iview app' to download and then watch "Mystify Michael Hutchence". It is an incredible docu-movie.

I love this song so much. If I'm extra emotional it makes me cry. Not sure if this was just a South Australian thing but this song was used in the commercials for SGIC insurance in the 90s. SGIC also used Great Southern Land in the 90s for their ads. The ads included a shot of a typical Aussie farmer looking out over a hill - that farmer was my grandpa and the shot was done in Broken Hill (and not on my grandpa's actual farm).

They also did an amazing version of “Never Tear us Apart” at this concert. I was lucky enough to also see them in ‘91, which was probably at their peak before Michael really caused things to start falling apart with his drug and alcohol abuse. He was still “high functioning” at this point. I’d put him up there with the most charismatic “front men” of all time - Freddie Mercury, Jim Morrison, Robert Plant, Bono etc
@shell84812 жыл бұрын
I would also add in some Mick Jagger swagger into the mix lol. This man certainly had it going on, charisma for days. Natural and effortless sex appeal and stage presence, not contrived, just free and himself in an element he was born for!

You do realise that his drug problems getting worse were due to a fall from a punch which caused a brain injury.
@stuartcole48452 жыл бұрын
@@leoniedrew5643 Yep, traumatic brain injuries can manifest in many different ways. I’d argue that most of his issues from ‘92 onwards, such as his drastic personality change towards aggressive behaviour and severe depression resulting in self medicating with drugs and alcohol and ultimately his suicide, all resulted from that random encounter where he was assaulted.
