This whole series was shot mostly in the UK, in some new movie studios based near the city of Reading (near London), where "Ghostbusters Frozen Empire" was filmed and on location in South Wales, for most landscape shots. As a result of being shot in the UK, they have to show details of what they spend the money on, in order to get a percentage tax rebate back from the UK government. So unfortunately as a UK tax payer, my taxes have been given back to Disney. I'm not happy about that!! 😠

Agreed the writing, pacing and narrative direction is hard to digest, and or isn't easy to swallow. They're deconstructing what has come before it. Its inconsistent and contradicts lore. This show has affected both Canon and Legends (EU), in a blasphemous way. Its not just the writing, and the acting, but the lore breaking. Its so inconsistent with its own lore, they can't agree on even how a simple thing, as how Sith obtain their Kyber Crystal or how they're red. The show doesn't know what direction its going or what it wants to be, especially with the moral message to even what is good and what is bad. Imagine watching this with your 12 year old and he walks out cause of a sexualized scene, or an interview about R2D2 being a lesbian. Yeah, I had to explain a few things ro him when he was like, what!? Don't watch this with your kid. That scene with Qimir and Osha gawking at each other coming out naked from the water was so cringe for him. It made the family so embarrassed and uncomfortable watching that together. I mean fair enough George Lucas era had some cringe moments and violent moments but it was far and in between. But, by far Disney has been the most sexualized with the shipping themes, and such. Or is it just me? It could just be how they executed these adult themes. George did it better?

Your Jaws analogy is excellent - what's the key to the Jaws success? Huge persistence by very talented people to overcome every obstacle and circumstance - fair, and unfair - thrown their way. This is how competition and merit should work. The Acolyte is self-evidently a production by a sheltered near-monopolistic bureaucracy, filled with drones, commissars, committees, all imbued with the party line, and no external accountability drivers, like quality, revenue, brand rep etc. That's why it's so bad. No competition - once the slimy insider deal to launch the thing was done, there's no quality control in any aspect of the production, its release, or its PR campaign, which - lord help us - is still going on as Headland explains, retcons and confounds everything we actually saw on screen. JFC. If it wasn't on screen it didn't happen, Leslye. Now I need a nap, and some way to wash my brain out.

If we judge it intentionally or serious lore yes. But I am at the point of laughing. It is so bad and insulting it is hilarious especially considering the numbers show relatively no one is watching. If fans were taking it seriously it would be atrocious but burn the money. Write awful continuity, this should have been easy to continue Star Wars for generations compared. They had actively destroy this IP. Look until the people making this IP are different people pretty much entirely and we get a continuity reset and probably 10 years inbetween the series is screwed.

Headlund admitted that she let the actors' "genius" dictate the characters and re-write the plot. I guarentee they reshot the whole thing at least once. She rewrote _HALF_ of the show because she liked the way Qimir's actor portrayed him and wanted to make him more important.

I think people have missed the point with the actress who plays White Haired Girl and how she said she decided to play it like her character had a girl crush on Less Evil Twin. The point is the actress had to develop this. Meaning it clearly wasn't in the script. Meaning clearly that the script gave her next to nothing to work with apart from "Young", "Jedi Paddimellon" and "Insufferable Biatch". Deciding to play her as schoolgirl girl crush is what gave the character the sliver of personality it ended up having. So it is not that the actress decided to make the character have a girl crush, it is that the show runners never developed this for her. This show doesn't care.

Love your reviews. It has helped me to have some good laughs after the disappointment of how bad it is. Love your nicknames for the characters. George Lucas made us fall in love with the characters, but these characters are absolutely flat and uninteresting. Additionally, Amandla is unable to show much differences between good twin and bad twin. The younger girls at least helped us to see the personalities better even though they weren’t great. Bad writing, bad directing, bad acting.

What is good about these delayed reviews is that having seen to the end we can look at all the things in the earlier episodes that NEVER GET RESOLVED. Case point in this one? Who set the trap? This show doesn't care. Best guess is it was meant to be Jedi Hairy, but that is head canon and if you have to make up your own explanations it means the show failed to. This show doesn't care.
