The Manwhas art is very very high quality. That is the biggest reason manwha readers feel sad over it. The art in the anime has its own flair so it’s not completely similar to the manwha art, but this is wonderfully adapted. Most people don’t realise the budget and time needed to adapt it faithfully 1:1 to the manwha

fun facts of this chapter: 1.- they guy on the test who wants to get D rank at least at the beggining of the chapter, he got that rank (C rank if my memory is correct) 2.- When the guy goes to see the Hwang dongsoo to the hospital he ask about Jinwoo's dad and he shows to him pictures about the dad saving some people that got in danger about the fight. He basically questions the hunter if his statements were correct. of course this is not a spoiler, just things that happen in the Manhwa, i love your reactions bud haha

0:30 kinda, yes. Some dialogue got cut out of the anime, usually stuff that isn't that interesting anyway, but also stuff that should have been in the anime. edit: 16:30 his rank wasn't officially updated, he is still E-rank on paper until they update his rank

i havent read the manhwa in so long because i read it as soon as new chapters came out ever since like 2019? but from what i can tell theyre animating it well, I do have some gripes because jinwoo is a little more idk "silly" or standoffish while being a clinical aura farmer in the manhwa but in the anime they make him seem completely badass which is just a little thing that i noticed. other than that thyre doing amazing, i think there was even 1 or 2 added scenes which is a win imo

Manhwa is not being butchered. I reread the manhwa as soon as the first episode of the season is released. Yes, the episodes are fairly fast paced this season as they're average about 5 chapters per episode right now, but they have covered every single major scene in the manhwa. They cut out some comedic chibi scenes from the manhwa, and may have skipped some dialogue or changed some dialogue. But they are sticking fairly close to the major details of the manhwa and the LN. Keep in mind: 1. This adaptation is based on the LN and the manhwa, with the LN being the actual source of Solo Leveling for the manhwa, game, and anime 2. Chugong (the author of Solo Leveling) is working with the production team to identify what specific scenes to adapt 3. A lot of people are mad that the anime cutting out the chibi scenes from the manhwa, (which they had actually considered and blueprinted animating but later decided to scrap), as well as smaller filler scenes. But the adaptation itself is pretty on point with the LN and manhwa. There aren't any important details that they've skipped.

Now that I think about it, the skipped contents are not actually essential for the advancement of the stories... So those skipped contents are basically like fillers that don't add to the story.... I am curious tho on how they will make this 5 seasons with the pacing they are doing now

I mean the difference I noticed is when jinwoo uses a skill, it won't show the skill panel that the skill was used while in the manwha it would show the panel. Not like Isekai Slime

i feel like the art in the man physically cannot be replicated to the anime. its just that godly. but the animation of the action sequences are absolutely phenomenal, the voice acting and soundtracks are fire, and i personally really like the pacing. sure they skip a bit of dialogue but thats fine by me. the only complaint i have is that they change up the goofy, chibi-ish, fun panels to give jin more aura, like my GOAT already has enough.

no, it isn't being butchered. They have only really skipped a couple nothing burger scenes that don't really do anything for advancing the plot at all. And they have added scenes to build the world out instead of how the manhwa is where you don't know anyone but sung until the events of this episode, essentially spawning a whole cast of characters out of nowhere. If anything, they've improved the story telling by allowing you to know other people before they become relevant. All of the season 1 side characters are relevant in larger ways later in the story. Thank the benefit of the story being as complete as it is for the reason they can use "filler moments" to tell a more complete story. The plot is all there. People being touchy over jokes that weren't even all that is stupid.

They are cutting some stuff out. Mainly small scenes and dialogue so far. I believe last weeks episode was 3 chapters in one ep. Its to be expected sadly but for the most part they are doing a really good job with cutting out what's not really important and giving us good pacing. Just some scenes either people really enjoyed in the manhwa or were excited to see animated. Seeing more webnovels and mahwas being adapted is really cool. Hopefully we don't get any like God of High School. That was an example of a butchered adaptions. The sequel series of SL, Solo Leveling Ragnarok got its manhwa debut last year and is pretty good. We will be eating good for a while. Hope they keep this momentum.

This is the one difference I hate between the anime and LN. in the LN Donsoo never goes to Korea and is never at the red gate. A different American hunter goes to Korea but doesn’t go to the gate. The line Il Hwan says this episode is different in the LN. He tells him “Do not step foot in Korea. For even in death your eyes won’t close. “
