I didn’t discover Vagrant Story until 7-8 yrs ago, and found it on eBay for only $30. Its difficultly/learning curve, graphics (for the time), music, and story helped make it one of my all-time favorite games, and I’ve been gaming for almost 40 yrs.

"Shadow Tower Abyss" is a Japanese exclusive for the PS2, but there is an English patch available!

Glad that the Ace combat 3 issue was addressed. I remember playing the original UK release of the game back in the day and found it incredibly dull with very little to make you want to continue playing the missions. Imagine my surprise when I found the fan translation and then finding out that it was nothing like how it played in my memories

Vagrant Story was the first one that popped into my head. I just beat it about a year ago, and it's definitely one of the best games I've ever played. It still looks good today thanks to the great art direction. You just have to make sure you have a few different weapons to deal with the different enemy types and you're good.

I can't help but wondering how a widescreen version of Vagrant Story would feel on modern day consoles, including nintendo switch. No fancy graphics or questionable remakes, just widescreen support. I guess it would be great...

Just by looking at the thumbnail ive immdiately guessed that you'd mistaken Vagrant story with The Vagrant (later renamed as The Sword of Vagrant), these are two different games. The art is lit though ngl.

Vagrant Story is such a great game. Played it a few years ago on the PS3. Still will have to do a second run to unlock the other areas. If they ever remake this I hope it will be a Crash Bandicoot like remake where the gameplay doesn't get changed but the graphic get an overhaul (and maybe add a some quality of life features like weapon wheel).

Here's a good question, why can't we play hundreds of upgraded PS1, and PS2 games on the PS5? Nope, they're locked behind an overpriced PS Plus paywall. At least on the series s, or x, you have access to hundreds of 360 games. I'm starting to think I should have stuck with them, instead of getting rid of it.

Sega Saturn was better and still is to the day play a PS1 game look awful blocky graphics everyone was sucked in by it but there's not many games I'd say are worth buying

in the case of Ace Combat, at least with Ace Combat 2, that was remade on the 3DS... So... a PS1 game stuck on the PS1 and a PS1 remake on the 3DS now stuck on the 3DS.
