Jade Cocoon was way ahead of its time. Gorgeous visual design, great world, fantastic localization, and fully voiced dialogue years before FFX and other PS2 RPGs normalized it.

PlayStation game nobody talks about (no reviews, no plot discussion, nothing) is Front Mission 3. I loved the game as a kid. I actually skipped the school just to play it. The "robot chess game" how my father was calling it. Nobody saw the appeal of the game. I had it in English when I didn't even knew the language and could only read Latin letters. And still I adored the game so much. In my opinion it should be in the every hidden gem or similar list. More people should play that game!

I usually watch your videos on my tv, so I don't have a chance to write down a comment. But this time I came here to the computer just to thak you for this amazing content you make! It's so nostalgic, yet so new! Always makes me want to play an old game on my very old Baby PS1, or PSP or my Vita! You showed me many games I have never heard of, some of which by now I already played, finished and love, some are still on the list. Anyways, thank you so much for this videos! Your curation is outstanding!

Bushido Blade 2 is one of my all time favorite "fighting" games. So glad to see others who know about it. The fact that not only could every character use any weapon you wanted, but that each weapon had 3 different stances you could use just made it so much fun. On top of that, each character had unique secondary weapons, AND, if they threw it at you and missed, you could actually pick it up yourself and use it against them. Seriously, that game was amazing back in the late 90s.

Jade Cocoon was another hidden technical marvel in regards to it's Evolution System. There are SO MANY ways monsters can change and evolve that the way they managed to pull it off on a single Playstation disc is incredible. Josh Strife Hayes goes into detail about this system in his review of Jade Cocoon...i couldnt help but have a better appreciation for the game knowing that under-the-hood detail.

Rakugaki Showtime is a great one I never hear anyone talk about. It's an arena fighter by Treasure similar to Power Stone with a cute, hand drawn aesthetic based on the concept of a child's doodles brought to life. It never left Japan but you can play it without knowing Japanese. It has a very limited print run I believe due to licensing issues so is one of the rarer games for the system, and features a guest appearance of Marina from Mischief Makers, another obscure Treasure game. Tons of fun and well worth checking out.
Nice video bro, keep going with your quality content!

If you really want to meet the most obscure PS1 game, check out Team 47 GoMan. It's a mech game which was developed very early on the PS1 life cycle. The development team had huge plans for the console, but they fell into oblivion shortly after for reasons I don't know. I'm not sure if the game was actually released, but it sure was one of the first projects for the console.

I remember playing Tenka (Code Name: Tenka in the west) thanks to a "4 in 1" pirate PS1 game I bought one day. The game was decent enough but the soundtrack had been completely hacked and replaced with a horrible, absolutely horrible, indescribable cacophony. I stopped playing it because of those horrible sounds.
