Thaw and snow, the forest house has become even more cozy, off grid cabin in the snowy woods

Winter has finally arrived. My cabin in the woods looks even cozier during the snowfall, and the stove gives the warmth I need. Last time I made a bed and it's time to make a small table. I decided to make the legs of the table shaped, so that somehow it differs from the majority. I am working on the house slowly, because everything you see I am doing for the first time, trying some joining techniques.

Hi Roman - Great job on the cabin ! Let me make just a couple of observations: The front porch roof does not seem to have much pitch which means that it will not drain properly. the roof materials may become water soaked, rot and fall onto the porch unless protected with tar paper and water proof roofing. This is not a very big problem and easy to fix. A big problem may come from the cast iron stove on the wood floor. What happens when standing on a wood floor is that heat from the stove dry's out the wood floor perhaps to the point of combustibility. A very dangerous situation. Please consult your local fire Marshall about this! I have built a number of homes and cottages and would hate to see your excellent work compromised.

I think your right about old school tools I enjoy using them to..the hand drill.& the Ole wood planer/ shaver..because you know its done right.im a small wood hobbyist .& I just love using them.. I also use old wood bark. To draw on & burn the wood..it's fun & enjoyable. Roman's doing it right all custom to his needs Cheers

Hi Roman, winter is upon us, i think working with hand tools is awesome every now & then. I work with them to.especially the hand drill.the legs for your table came out great..your table is to..The best part of it all is knowing you did it yourself.. an accomplisment thats a great feeling..I think you may be right a small workshop should be in the future for your projects & maybe to help keep wood dry ..was great to see you again my friend ..Cheers

Just a suggestion…you should get a small bucket or tub to put the wood shavings in and use it a a fire starter

Good job. Takes a little to get that many dowels together. A hand plane to smooth up the top and a little coating to seal it up. Then a bench or chair. Good vid. Keep a fire lite.

Доброго вам дня. Подивився на ваше виготовлення меблів для себе. Чудово. Але мені здається при прилаштовуванні однієї деталі деревени до іншої, не треба бити молотком по самій деталі, бо від молока можуть залишитися вм'ятини, а бити через прокладку, дерев'яний брусок. А як вам здається?
