If I were 5"9+ I would have TOTALLY took volleyball seriously in high school. I just don't think 5"6 cuts it for high ranked volley ball teams. I learned that the hard way when I thought I was tall and we played the 2nd best HS volleyball team in Arizona, and every girl on the team was like majestic 5"11+ girls flying up to the net....yeah I ended up joining the tennis team right after that....

Lizzy Hale yep sometimes height just wins out. But as long as you have an impressive vertical jump you'd do fine.
