This 420-square-foot studio in Manhattan can transform into five different rooms and is on the market for just under $1 million.

Nathan W No, not if you did it yourself. Although this guy has used stuff from resource furniture, which is a really cool, but incredibly expensive, company, so that's probably where a lot of the money went. Plus the location. If it's in Manhattan 90% of that price will be based purely on location.

It’s in NYC. You can’t expect to be 100K. Besides, it’s furnished, and the furniture does not look cheap 😏

Where I live, half a million dollars is enough to build a full lake front property mansion with anything you could ever want, and then an extra 500k left.

Sorry, buying a couple of items from Resource Furniture doesn't make a shoebox worth a million bucks. -jcr

Creating bigger space in small apartment room is for saving cost and ground space, this one went on an opposite way.

Why would I buy a house like this for a million dollars when I can buy a better house for a million dollars.

This is basically a small apartment but they added some features to make it seem like it's more special

A million laughs is all you'd get for that asking price. The location is the only thing that'd make the price that high. The concept is awesome though.

The actual materials may not cost a million dollars, but unless you have a blueprint you ain't building jack. You're paying a million for his design.

You'd have to be a fool to buy this cheap ikea-like 420 sq ft room for $1 million. Then again it is Manhattan and there are a lot of fools that buy real estate there.

This apartment is way over priced, but Manhattan is one of the best places to live. Its like an outside playground.

Joseph Atnip NY you get jobs above 100k, prices are high in NY. St Louis you get jobs as low as 50k, prices are low. When you retire from NY, you can afford a lot more than a person in St louis coming to NY. I'm sure the guy is not going to live there for the rest of his life, hes gonna sell which another buyer would be willingly to pay a million for the location of central Manhattan.
