Insane how he starts with a bogey, left some putts out there that scared the hole, didn’t hit many fairways early, and still shot an easy 65.. sure he had a couple nice up and downs that maybe saved a couple strokes, but that was ridiculous how easy he made that look.. excited to see him and Miles on the come up

Great vid, Grant! I worked at Cherry Hills during the 2023 US Amateur and got to know Blades a bit. Awesome kid and family. Knew he'd be special when he broke the course record at the sister course and broke Bobby Jones's record as youngest medalist in US Am history. Fun fact, he got paired with the caddie that Peyton Manning requests when he plays CHCC, they got along so well he's his primary caddie now. Go get em' Blades!

@@aweir7108 Some of this can be due to A/B testing. You can put multiple thumbnails on one video (up to three) and it will show the different ones to different viewers. You can then check which one is getting more attention and pick that as your thumbnail that will show up. This helps you see which kind of thumbnails the viewer base likes. Also, the thumbnail and title are very important in getting impressions (getting the video shown to multiple people) on youtube as of now.

That was excellent Grant. Well done for being such a good sport encouraging the young man to maintain his cool and achieve a great score. I studied "Mental Toughness" for my MSc (Developing Mental Toughness: Improving Performance, Wellbeing and Positive Behaviours by Peter Clough (Author), Doug Strycharczyk (Author). Blades exemplified the four key areas of the concept: Challenge, Confidence, Commitment and Control. Blades did this by: 1.Challenge - Setting the goal to shoot 5 or more under. 2.Confidence - having confidence in his ability to play the ball wherever it stopped on the course. 3.Commitment - deciding what shot to play and playing it, not letting doubts creep into his play. 4.Control - Blades controlled his emotions by focusing on the next shot and not which had just passed. So as an example of "Mental Toughness" Blades not only shot 7 under, he nailed the 4Cs. Blades also gave you some advice on putting - Speed - so you can see how you can apply the concept of the 4Cs your putting. Regards Nick

Hey Grant, just wanted to give you some insight on that putter. I have it too. On short putts with that club, make sure that your backswing is shorter, that seems to keep it online for me. Also, for long putts, you dont have to take it back as much as you think, the weight of the putter will do the work for you. It took me missing a bunch of short putts left, and blowing long putts way past the hole before I was able to get it under control. I'm a 7hcp so nothing like your skill level, but I wish someone had told me that sooner! Cheers buddy.

Was going to comment also, but man, you nailed it, I thought he wasn't trusting his line, and the club head would twist..

It's very rare for someone to say they shoot 7-8 under on a regular basis then do exactly that their first time on KZbin...kid is good! Fun to watch, can't wait to watch him on the tour!

Oh my god, this kid is very good. I am probably the only one who haven't heard about him. I hope he will be a superstar, he has everything, skills and charisma. Some golfers are boring, but he will be fun to watch.

This kids already competed in high pressure PGA events and did very well, and he's 17 with a solid game and unyielding confidence. Grant has always championed young talent on his channel.-great person.
