There are many reasons to get a PhD or a doctorate in business administration (DBA), but there are a lot of reasons that people don’t talk to you about why you should not get a doctorate in business administration.
Reasons not to get a Doctorate in Business Administration.
1. The returns on your education are far too long in the future. It will take you at least a decade to recoup the cost of pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration.
2. You all have to work long hours. Please do not consider a PhD as a way to actually slack off for the rest of your life. It is very difficult!
3. You will cry or get angry at somebody multiple times. Because there is a lot of uncertainty and ambiguity in a PhD in Business Administration, you often get very emotional and take this out on others.
4. You will spend large amounts of your time alone during your PhD in Business Administration, which can lead to mental health problems.
5. While you might feel successful in your current job, nobody will know who you are for a long time and you will feel unproductive in academia.
6. Doing a Doctorate In Business Administration could affect your family-life choices, and whether you choose to have children.

David Maslach is a research professor of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy, I discuss topics, such as behavioral science, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and apply these to my new peer proofreading and editing platform. Topics include the sharing economy, altruism, investing in technology, starting a business, and bounded rationality. My favorite videos pertain to incentives, goal setting, and learning from failure to drive behaviors such as weight loss, stopping telemarketers, creating novel technologies, and creating new movements.
r3ciprocity.com: Peer proofreading and editing platform
A new platform where you can earn credits by editing other people's documents. Use these credits to have your own work edited. If you do a good enough job, you can convert these credits to money.
The goal of the platform is to get people to 'pay it forward' and help other people out by creating incentives for people to give back.
