#BananaIsland. The billionaire's playground in #Lagos #Nigeria. This is actually home to some of the finest houses and richest people in Africa...The properties in this island are usually sold for millions of US dollars.
Celebrities, business moguls, politicians are known to live in Banana Island. Some of the famous people who live here include, musician Davido, billionaires like Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga successful blogger Linda Ikeji and so many more..
Banana Island is a man-made island in Lagos State Nigeria. It is built on reclaimed land from the ocean. Did you know that Banana Island is slightly curved in shape - like a banana hence where it got it's name?
A plot of land here costs approximately $1M

No, Banana Island was not reclaimed from the ocean, it was reclaimed from the lagoon. It is not on the ocean front. It's really an extension of Ikoyi. Growing up in Lagos in the 1970s, the rear of Ikoyi where Banana Island is today was known as Ikoyi Park, a marshy area that was something of a nature preserve. This area was sand filled and extended into the lagoon. This portion of the Lagos Lagoon where Banana Island is located is known as Five Cowries Creek.

You are very right...my family lived in this area back then and I was born in the Ikoyi area....the area was really marshy but so serene in the 70's.

Reclaimed from the lagoon or sea, is it not technology that was used for the task? Are you aware that the word Lagos in Portuguese means lagoon. Go and study world geography and history once again. Are you aware that there is also a place in Portugal called Lagos and it has closeness to the Atlantic Ocean? The location of Lagos on the map of Nigeria looks similar to Lagos on the map of Portugal.
@Bio54633
@Bio54633 2 жыл бұрын
@@wwswewillsee9335 So what is the relevance of your comment? Did anyone make any reference to technology? Also, I'm not sure that any of the authors of the previous comments on this thread require a history or geography lesson about Lagos from you. It's a city each of us is very familiar with. 🤔

ONE THING I LOVE NIGERIA IS THAT THEY BUILD THERE ECONOMY, THEY BUILD THERE OWN INDUSTRY, NO FOREIGN HELP. THEY ARE OVER BLESS WITH SKILL, VERY WEALTHY AND INTELLIGENCE. NIGERIANS ARE THE MOST ENVIED PEOPLE ON EARTH, ANYTHING THEY DO PROGRESS. I LOVE NIGERIANS. THEY ARE SMART , WHAT EVER THE PUT THERE MIND TO DO, THEY WILL BRING THE BEST OF THE BEST OUT OF IT. MOST AFRICA COUNTRIES CANT STAND WITH FOREIGN INVESTORS, BUT IN NIGERIA, THEY OWN 99% ASSET IN THERE COUNTRY. THEY EVEN HAVE MORE INDUSTRIES IN MANY AFRICANS COUNTRIES. NIGERIA ARE THE MOST BLESS IN AFRICA.

@@pmambongwe8640 the land in this area is not even worth the price, it is not worth $1, as it used to be a lagoon and a marshy lagoon area. I'M Ivorian🇨🇮and definetly Pro Nidja🇳🇬 100% for many reasons.They are the big brothers in all kind of ways..If Nigeria 🇳🇬falls,Africa falls as well. But to be honest I'm not totaly impress by this..A Millions dollars neighberhood looking like à regular wealty neighborhood eslse where in West Africa !!I'm realy fan of the eastern african architecture and design(Kenya Zimbabwe,Namibie, Tanzanie)...In this vidéo this place is nothing compare to what Tigress showed us in South Africa for exemple...It's also nothing compare with fancy places in Morroco. ..No i'm sorry my Nigerians brothers, with such money, you can do way mutch better.No Offense 😎m

Exactly, because in Ghana we have heard much about this neighborhood in Nigeria being the billionaires paradise, so I'm sure she hasn't tour it well, she really needs a tour guide that will take her around City, she actually mess up in Ghana last time showing the most worst place in Accra, is't that nobody was there to take her around or maybe she hate west Africa
