It's amazing that more than 40 years after the release of the 64 there are still heroes programming new games, it really is an immortal machine.

true that mate and theres not a year goes by that we dont get a game that completely blows our minds on what the C64 was capable of

It was a hugely popular home computer at least in Europe

The fact people still make Megadrive games with the cartridge, box, artwork, manual etc is mad too. Not to mention translating a lot of Japanese only RPGs.

I'm a better starter than finisher and I didn't expect you to review a game that I'd completed but there are two in the list. I couldn't get on with Hawksmill but I played both Rocky Memphis and Isle of Cursed Prophets to completion and loved both. This is a great list and it's good to see a few that I wasn't really aware of. Thanks OSG.

Steel Ranger... What I really like , besides the gorgeous cardboard box and all, is that the game really benefits when using the SCPU and the IDE64. I wish more ganes would take advantage of these devices right out if the box. I spent hours with this game and loved every second of it. It's tine to fire it up again and maybe even complete it. Steel Ranger 2 might be coming in 2024. Fingers crossed.

Love these videos, been binge watching over Christmas. A combination of great memories and amazement at the newer games and what modern programmers squeeze out of the ol' machine

Congratulations🎉. Great video. when you consider how far computers and consoles have developed it's brilliant that people still have a love for the old C64 and are creating such fantastic games. Happy New Year.🎉

Welcome back! Excellent video as usual. A couple others I would have included in the list but alas there's only room for 10!

@@oldstylegaming I did like Soulless 2 a bit better than the original but I can see where you're coming from - the original is still the original! Loved the 2023 version of Polar Bear which is a lot more playable than the 2021 original. Hope they release the black edition soon because that supposedly has new music too. Also thought MW Ultra was great, though Hessian and Steel Ranger are still a tad better, you're right. Can't go wrong with Lasse! Great list either way and I can definitely agree with it!

So many great HQ titles, with modern design. Rocky and CO is especially intriguing to me, will get it soon.

Rocky and Co is a good puzzle platform game, sort of reminds me of Benefactor on the Amiga a bit.

A fine collection of great looking games! Never played any of em! I see they're all mostly newish titles, was there no classic Psytronik from the 90's that would've made the cut? I have 18 games by Psytronik but again I ain't played any of em, I don't have any you've shown here so I'll check em out. Great vid m8

C64 sprites have really, distinct flavour to them, perhaps its the colour palette.
@jumhed994 Жыл бұрын
It is the colour palette, but also the pixels are wider than they are tall.
