A friend of mine worked at Nvidia for about 10 years as an integrated circuit designer and so I can confirm through talking to him that it was a great place to work. Unfortunately he was eventually laid off and had to move on. This is a downside to working in the semiconductor industry in that it goes through cycles and layoffs are common. You're always looking over your shoulder wondering when your last day at the company might come. My friend several years later ended up getting hired by Apple so it worked out for him (for now, lol!). So I guess if you don't mind the industry volatility and can tolerate being unemployed periodically it's a good industry. It does pay pretty well.

My dad used t0 work for Nvidia before they shut down his current business and my uncle still works there. My uncle makes 200k and my dad while he was working there he was making decent money as well but more than anything Nvidia was the company by far that gave him the most work life balance.

It's hard to use these lists for anything more than a rough starting point or maybe an additional idea when job searching, and looking at feedback for the company as a whole on forums like Glassdoor or Indeed can easily be misleading. Your experience can be completely different even on two closely related teams within the same department. It all comes down to management and specific responsibilities ownership. Also, everyone's preferences are different when it comes to a role. I could never consider any of the Big 3 consulting firms as a "best company" to work for simply due to their terrible work/life balance and "up or out" culture, regardless of how great the benefits and compensation are. IMO, finding the best opportunities comes down to expanding and cultivating your network - if you spend a little time here and there doing that, interesting opportunities tailored to YOU will start to frequently cross your radar.

exactly. i feel like its kinda presumptuous to make this kind of list without having any real-life experience at these places. I've worked for a few "Top 100 Company To Work For"-companies and they were trash. I've also seen HR people of companies try to do "damage-control" on Glassdoor to inflate positive reviews. Glassdoor can be helpful but its definitely not always accurate & should not be the only thing you base your research on.

Thank you so much for your content sir. It is always a go to especially to people stuck with important decision making.. Please, I have been cruising through your vidoes for a long time now but I have not seen a video where you talk about "BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES" as a Masters or bachelors degree. There is so little information about it here on youtube and some of us gain more confidence with your information. I hope my request is granted. Thank you very much.

@@MorganAdair I've seen a couple of your videos. I like your stuff. I did BSBA Information Technology concentration. I wish I did Econ for better graduate school opportunities. I'm either stuck doing a masters in analytics from Georgia Tech or get an MBA. Trust me Abdul get the Economics degree.

I am terrible at math. I got a D+ in precalculus it took me six years to pass math 1050 which is college algebra. However I am majoring in economics and love it. Most of my math is understanding the concept and process of math rather than doing the math itself. I am heavily using excel to solve complex math problems but it is so rewarding. Please go for that economics degree. Business administration is super saturated and the return on investment in my research is not as high. Good luck.
