The Witcher III is a ludicrously solid port: all the DLC, several options for adjusting the performance and graphics to your liking and the cherry on top: cross platform saves. You can start a session on Switch, go for a walk, spend two hours doing quests, come home, and pick up where you left off on PC. Absolutely great stuff.

@SnazzyGameBot it's a very lore heavy game. I recommend 2 because it will play a little closer to 3 since the first one was made so long ago. But it's worth it if you like story, strategy, and don't mind a lot of A to B type stuff

I really hate it that Bioshock: The Collection only has a portion of each game on the cartridge. If they couldn't fit it all on even a 32 GB cart then they could be at least made the base games the part on the cartridge and what was originally DLC the mandatory download.

Alien isolation is the best port ever on switch and deserve every bit of attention.

I would argue that the best way to experience Alien Isolation is using a VR headset on PC. The devs finished a VR mode for the game but it's not for the faint of heart or the sensitive stomached. It was cut but all they did was remove a .dll file. You can re-add that file to the PC version and unlock that mode.

literally every single game in this video except for 1 is a last gen port, so this video is utterly redundant and basically says that water is wet. "a much later release for a game on a much more powerful platform runs well with nicer graphics??!! OH MY!!!" is basically the message here lol.

Sadly these collections rarely have the games on a cartridge... I hate when you have like only parts of the game on a cart and the rest is just a code. I cannot pass that code to my kids to play on their accounts. Who thought this is a good concept?

Honestly I'm okay with some games being partially on the cart as the rest is an update. (I obviously rather have everything on the cart but its better than nothing) Updates are really easy to back up from switch to switch, as switch has a local update transfer so possible to keep it backed up. But borderlands only the first game is on the cart sadly. The other games are eshop codes unlike bioshock which all of them are on the cart you just need to update each title.

Or if they have their own system and own accounts and want to test my game Ihave to put my account on their switch and let them play with my profile? I don't thing either of these scenarios is reproducing anything. It's not like we are playing the same game at the same time together and online. That way I would get that argument at least...

@@kingofrockz but Bioshock doesn't have all the games on the cart. Also LA Noir has not even 1 full game on the cart. That's just sad imo. Most collection actually do this. Bayonetta, Megaman collections all of those are literally waste of money. You can't share with friends or family to just test out, you cannot resell and you cannot use on a new account (which might be necessary if you move to another county).

@@kingofrockz You shouldn't be as accepting of that practice as you are though cause once the eShop servers go down then those games are pretty much worthless to new customers. Publisher greed should never ever be tolerated. Instead it should be boycotted so that they start learning how to properly treat your customers with the respect they deserve.

I think Doom (2016) and Wolfenstein 2 were both good ports as well. I also think the same about Witcher 3. Yes the graphics and framerate taken a hit here but just the fact the game runs on switch at all and decent at that is something magical.

Correction, Hellblade launched with a PC version. It was the Xbox version that had to wait 9 months. You may have meant it this way, but the way you phased it makes it sound like it was only on PS4 and the PC version didn't come till later.

Glad you're back! My favorite port is Wolfenstein Young Blood, I think panic button did a great job, because they improved what they've done in Doom and Wolfenstein 2.

I love Console Game Ports on Handheld Systems. PSP, Vita, DS and so on got a lot of good ports. As for Switch. Some of my favorites for Switch are: Chocobodungeon Everybuddy, Dragon Quest 1+2+3, Collection of Mana, Final Fantasy 7+8 (wish they would also release 9 as Retail). Final Fantasy X/X-2, Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age, Okami and Wolfenstein 2. There are probably some more. But those are the ones i have or that come to my mind right now^^

Doom 2016, Warframe, Dragon Quest XIS, Wolfenstein 2, Crash Team Racing, Rocket League, Crysis Remastered, Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Deadly Premonition Origins, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Crash NSane Trilogy, and, of course, the legendary port of Ark Survival Evolved

The most dissapointing thing for some of these ports... Bioshock collection: doesn't come with all the games on the cartridge L.A. Noire: literally doesn't even have one full game on the cart I know it has nothing to do with gameplay, but I'm a physical games guy. I refuse to buy partial/hybrid releases

Me too if I buy a retail copy I want the game on a physical medium! Hybrid collections are rip offs and empty cases with just a code inside are plain criminal. I have 2 kids and want to pass the cartridge to them so they can play but I don't want them to play digital only on my account!

@@davidlane1248 there will always be physical game releases but you are totally right: just as with music and movie media games are going to fade from physical markets. There will only be select games that release in physical format. I fear there will be special editions which will be the only version to include physical media of the game just to make it more expensive...

If it's not a first party game, the switch is the LAST place you want to buy your 3rd party physical games on, particularly collections, unfortunately. I can only assume it's a manufacturing or cartridge deal or guideline, because next to no 3rd party developers make use of the cartridge in its entirety, but many 1st/2nd party do (with minor exceptions.) If you want physical 'all on disc', you have to stop buying physical after 2014, and no later than 2016. The way of physical has been steadily declining and the rise of digital licenses has been on the warpath for close to a decade, and there's no stopping it.

Nice video. I suggest you check Grid Autosport, that is an excellent port, not only for the graphics and sound options, but also for the controller options and the several additions post launch. The Metro games are also solid ports. And also, while with some issues, the Doom 2016 port left me in awe back in 2017 delivering such great gameplay in a portable console.

If I like a game enough I'll buy it on every system it's on that I have. So I've got Worldend Syndrome on Switch/PS4, I've got Shovel Knight on 3DS/Wii U/Switch/PS4/Xbox/Steam, Saints Row the Third on Xbox/Steam/Switch (I guess not PS4 yet but we'll see), Hitman 2016/2018 on Xbox/Steam/PS4... It might seem wasteful, I guess. But there are some devs that I just really want to support for making such excellent games that I want to play through again and again and switch up the console just to slightly change the experience
