The Tomb Raider survivor trilogy are some of the best games I've played, with Rise easily being top 3 story-wise

Mojo, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a really good Wolfenstein reboot. IMO, it's better than New Order and it's follow up games.

There’s only one FPS campaign that is better to play through than Doom 2016 and that’s Doom Eternal. I actually agreed with most of the games on this list

I liked the 2011 Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat X was another one of my favorites. Ninja Gaiden was also an incredible game that still holds up today. It's a shame that Star Fox went several directions after 64. With Starfox Adventures, Star Fox Assault, Star Fox Command, Star Fox Zero which had to use the gamepad gyro controls and was another Star Fox 64 revival which could have been a decent game without the gyro controls. There was also that Starlink game which had Fox and the Arwing exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

Absolution wasn't disappointing, it was simply different. However, the trilogy reboot is outstanding. I hope the next Hitman is another contracts game putting beloved mission in one package with current graphics and mechanics.

I would say it the Hitman games ,but always have trouble with the training levels .And the Mafia remastered was cool ,as well the Mass Effect Legendary edition .Since all three games held up ,but the first game improved it's game play whole lot .

Is Hitman really a reboot ? I thought it was a sequel to the original games, but with a few flashbacks to better explain 47's past. The fact it doesn't mention Victoria or some past events doesn't mean they never happened in that continuity. Maybe, the characters just don't talk about it.

There's no reboot, in Mortal Kombat. It's just characters using time manipulation. Usually, it's Raiden (because he's bad at protecting Earthrealm) and Kronika (because it's her prerogative) doing it. When Fire God Liu Kang gained the power to manipulate time, he did go back in time and recreate reality, but it's just a continuation of the events in the series - it's not the developers rebooting the entire franchise.

@@McGeezle the gameplay is awesome! You can change mid-fight between two fighting styles and one weapon-wielding for each fighter (except in Armageddon where it's just one style and one weapon for each), envirimental attacks, cool juggling mechanics, parrying, and unlike the netherrealm games you can side-step. It's very unique and much quicker than most 3D fighters.

@@Nov-5062 see what I mean? Switching styles and environmental attacks have nothing to do with the actual fighting mechanics. The rest are bare necessities for 3D fighting games. Those MK games have the most shallow, stiffest fighting mechanics ever conceived. I was always an MK fanboy but the actual fighting in those games was just sad even compared to Tekken 3, let alone games at the time like Tekken 5. All the moves in MK even looked awful too

I think the 3D era innovated a lot while also keeping a lot of mechanics from the OG trilogy, as a result they kinda went for quantity over quality with their design choices but I still prefer this aproach over what came before and after it. Also I have a bit of a bias towards 3D fighters over 2D ones. Being stuck on one lane kinda drives me mad.

@@Nov-5062 well I prefer 3D too and I even hate stages not being interactive but it was painful playing any of those MK games after whatever tekken game at the time just due to the complete lack of fluidity to the gameplay, and the terrible white belt looking animations. Shaolin Monks was the GOAT though

I hated it at first, since it is so obviously not really Doom, but it is a decent enough game. It should have just been given a different (non-Doom) name. The atmosphere, soundtrack etc of Doom 3 should have been continued in the series.
