It's kinda both ways. Sure, Brotherhood betrayed him but also he didn't have to kill all his friends even if they wanted the thing he despised. He didn't have to join the Templars also as he knew earlier that they aren't really that good, actually both Assassins and Templars were very similar in the 1700s.

As far as Shay's betrayal goes, I was far more affected by him killing Adewale than Charles Dorian. Mostly because I'd spent a fair chunk of Black Flag getting to know and like Ade, but Charles was just part of Arno's background. Charles's death might have been more significant looking at a broader perspective, but Adewale's cut deeper because I knew him far better.

Thank God that classic Assassin's Creed is back with Mirage. My biggest problem with the new games isn't the rpg elements, it's the weak stealth and parkour mechanics and the fact your not playing as an actual member of the brotherhood.

The stealth in modern games is far better than Stealth in games like AC2. AC2 easily has some of the worst stealth mechanics in all of gaming. Classic Assassin's creed are shitty stealth games, that don't even have a crouch button ffs.

Valhalla gives you the opportunity to play in a stealthy way and I usually did approach missions and side activities with stealth, but the RPG elements and playing the mythological settings of the last few games has been my personal pet peeve with the series. I want to see more from Mirage before I give into playing it, but I am hopeful that the return to the roots of the series will prove beneficial.

It's honestly more of a complex situation and understandable. We see first hand that not everything the Assassins were doing were right, especially when they don't understand what they were dealing with. On the other hand, he did single handedly destroy the Brotherhood in America to the point of extinction which led to the Templars growth in the country. Shay may have not betrayed the brotherhood but he did cause more harm than good.

The other members of the Council were free to dissolve said truce, and make Arno their scapegoat. Pisses me off that we never did anything about that. "Two master assassins are dead on your watch, one in defense of a Templar. Be grateful this is the extent of your punishment." HELLO? One of those master assassins was responsible for the death of the other, and he was also trying to kill Arno too, for crying out loud! Also, how the HELL is Mirabeau's death Arno's responsibility?!?! I've actually suspected that one or more of the council might've been involved, because look at how well it turned out for them.

Having Cleopatra and Caesar betray us always felt like a missed opportunity to me. Not the betrayal itself, but the story not going for it as our motive. It really felt believable that Bayak would feel betrayed by Caesar pardoning the guy who murdered his son, and turns on the two of them for a very personal reason. But apparently the game wanted him to remain a pure heroic character and instead try to act like Cleopatra betrayed Egypt by being corrupted by Flavius.

The new games lean far more towards RPG elements then it should've. It should've leaned further into stealth, be it traditional (like Metal Gear, Splinter Cell and Thief, etc) or/and social stealth (aka the OG AC games), but stealth non the less.
@MARYWTHER
@MARYWTHER 2 жыл бұрын
@@DarthDragon007 Why? The characters aren't assassins, how are they supposed to know about stealth? Origins has stealth elements, but that's logical because Bayek is actually the founder of what would become the Assassins later on. It's a story-wise choice the game designers made when creating AC Odyssey and Valhalla, neither Kassandra/Alexios nor Eivor ever really learn the Assassins' ways (and in Odyssey's case, the characters even exist hundreds of years BEFORE the Assassins), so how could they even use them? It's actually better than having them act like Assassins when they've never learnt about the Assassins to begin with - ie, unlike Edward on Black Flag, where you spend the whole game doing Assassins missions even tho your character is a pirate and not an Assassin, he just wears the clothes as a costume, yknow? Which is something I found so illogical, it was actually annoying me the whole way, how LATE Edward even meets the Assasins, like fr. Just because these two games derived from the Assassins to delve into another part of the AC lore, doesn't mean they aren't AC games. There's still plenty of Assassin's-driven AC games, and Mirage will go back to focusing on the Assassins (as will all the games they've teased this year).

Interesting thing is that in 4:56 Al Mualim says "assassiyoon's creed". I played AC1 in Polish and I thought that the voice acting in my language was somehow cut or badly interpreted but it sounds like they pronounced it right. Lucy's death was complete BS. It was a plot twist that came out of nowhere because it wasn't supposed to happen. That entire plot and the lore behind it were created specifically to kill off Lucy just so Kristen Bell didn't get a larger paycheck. It was a disgusting betrayal of a character simply because the creators didn't want to pay the VA a higher wage.

I wholeheartedly object to Shay being a traitor. The Assassins betrayed him. Not the other way around. Shay was a true believer of freedom, but accepted Templar rule because he valued human life more than freedom in the end. He ends up killing them because they did not accept that the Isu temples are to dangerous to meddle with. Achillies even blames Shay when he returns with that horrific experiences. Even Achillies realises this in the end and it's the main reason he accepts being locked away and forgotten in the homestead. Achillies could have tried to rebuild the order by sending letters to other parts of the world, like France etc and they would have sent help. But he chose exile until Connors relentless actions forced him out of retirement.

I’ll admit it’s not the ac games that I grew up with not enough assassinations and the stealth can be a bit wack at times but the game it’s self is pretty good if you pulled the Assassins Creed name off it. I don’t 100% dislike the way they went with the skill trees but I enjoyed when you would get a story with the new skill you received like with Ezio and Da Vinci.
