So when it comes to working with rasterized art versus vector, you need to consider the DPI amount as well as the size of the canvas. If you want to print anything and it not be pixelated, you should have the dpi amount set to 300 at the minimum. Anything less than that could be a pixelated mess, depending on the size of the print. I usually set it to 400 dpi on top of having a larger canvas size. That way it can be printed in large format without issues.

I feel that Procreate is the best app for artists who are moving from physical art (watercolor, pencil and pen illustration, markers, etc) to digital art. It's quite cheap-particularly when you already have the iPad and the Pencil-has got great support and has a really simple interface. I honestly haven't used a lot of the features, happy to just treat it as if I were using a pen and paper.

Sigh 😔 I only create clip art and I love what I do but my dream is to be one day like you! I’ve made so many mistakes in my business, started to make 40,000 dollars per year right around the pandemic but now I barely get any orders. I spent 2,000 dollars that I don’t have for a course that is supposed to bring my Etsy shop where it was and the advice seems great, but with 800+ listings, it’s taking a while to get to where I was. You are in inspiration, I have so many ideas and passion for what I do, I keep thinking I’ll get there again but sometimes I also feel like just dropping it and move on .

I absolutely love my procreate and like procreate dreams. I am using to create adaptive creative art for people with disabilities. One of the things I love is the flexibility of this program and the ease of use of the brushes. (Which I am so addicted to!) The portability is undeniably the best! (I am frequently in the hospital and this is always with me! The final images can be printed but I also use them with my sublimation work!) Though now I need more advanced training in terms of the drawing aspect! FYI - the streamline is so incredible, especially for those of use with limited hand use!

@KikiStar5185 ай бұрын
I was going to make this same comment 🫡. Comparing Procreate to Photoshop would’ve been more accurate since they’re both raster programs. Just wanted to share this if you ever decide to try Illustrator sometime in the future, Elyse…. Illustrator for iPad has the same undo/redo tapping feature. Drawing with the brush or pencil tool is better than using the pen tool on an iPad, in my opinion. You want texture added to the design? Use the effects included in one of the many standard palettes or make your own. Affinity Designer is another vector program similar to AI, but has a one-time purchase option as well.

Let me know what you think is incorrect!
