I am sick to death of American politics, of everything being about half the country hating the other half. This was such a wonderful place for so long. Philippines has the happiest people on earth. No matter the condition, they are always grateful for what they have. Our tour bus on our way to Lake Tahoe, California picked another tour bus full of filipinos. They have been on the side of the road in the mountains for a couple of hours. When they came aboard, they were all smiling and so friendly and making jokes about their unfortunate break down. They were so appreciative. They stood inside the bus since all the seats were already taken by our group, but they did'nt care. They were so happy to be there.

As someone who lives in Canada I can say it is not for everyone. I am blessed to live here as It is a very safe and beautiful country for the most part, That has some amazing people living here but it is very wide spread which forces a lot of people to have cars. (Outside of a few major cities) The job opportunity is also pretty limited to certain parts which is why most of the population lives in the general Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver area and this is why rent is so insanely expensive and buying a home nearly impossible in southern Ontario now (Thanks to covid) and in most parts of BC. The incomes at least in Toronto are generally not very high and most of what people make goes to rent alone. It is also very cold with almost zero night life/culture. I have known some people who immigrated to Canada and they are leaving for those reasons. That being said there are affordable and great places to live in Canada that are growing in popularity which is great to see. Such as Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Edmonton and Calgary Alberta. The East coast is also amazing for people who are retiring or who work remotely. So if one doesn't mind driving every where, can work remotely or find opportunity in affordable places and doesn't mind it there being no night life or night culture almost at all then Id say you would enjoy living here.

I am a Filipino living in Norway. I should say this is really a beautiful, rich country where people are peace loving and friendly and where equality in all walks of life is evident. Education and health services are basically almost FREE for everyone regardless of where you are from. However, depression is a big issue here but the government does everything to help its citizens. I believe happiness is a choice! Whenever we live, we can be happy regardless of our situation. Loving God, our families and serving our fellowmen and living a healthy lifestyle, having a positive and eternal perspektive in life can make all the difference to achieve joy and lasting happiness !

I am from suomi which is more known internationally as Finland. Our country has really low crime rate and pretty much liveable due to enormous government support. But darkness and extreme cold weather for over 10months a year causes depression. I married a Filipina and once visited Philippines, I could say that its treasure is the people itself. They are happy, very compassionate, emotion-driven and polite. There are few exceptions but their population is outnumbered by the good ones. I think sunshine and warm weather contributes to their sunny disposition in life. I love my wife for inheriting the good qualities of a typical Filipino. We are considering to migrate.

I suppose that as the people were poor and the communities were small enough and all people knew all the others, Finland was like Philippines. It seems to me that Finland has an old culture that does not prepared people for modern life. Now must people live for themselves and this can be a heavy burden. Maybe in the future even Philippines will be like Finland!
@olavtryggvason11945 жыл бұрын
Help me but Finnish people do not seem to be very happy. Always serious, not the glad type of people. Silent, talking very little. Perhaps the reason for this is the difficult language. You must handle so many kasus when speaking - perhaps easier to be quiet. So happiness - the feeling - is not my association with the people in Suomi (Finland).

Just sit back and think about the types of cultural groups that are not living there vs in other countries. That is a big reason as well. A cultural mindset has to be in place. Violence has to be dealt with in order to have a tranquil life. Austria doesn’t allow certain people in and that is why it is doing well. Notice Canada got dropped? What has Canada done recently in regards to the people they are letting in; it has free health care but they invited violence in.

hhhh man the scandinavian countries are the most depressed in the whole world. 1_There is no social life there. 2_No good food ( all is imported and stored for months that tastes as plastic). 3_ During winter you do not see the sun for three months and if you stay more than one year you will get depression, even in summer you get only few days and the rest is rainy or windy. 4_ Greed and jealousness is eating people from inside ( whether in work places or study). 5_They have the highest rates of suicides and the highest rates of people taking anti depression medicines ( one million each year in sweden and 30% of people in Norway). these statistics measure only education and health care system, but not how people really feel. even the health care systems is catestrophic as you wait months until an appointment. this is really mine and my firends experience after 5 years study and work in Sweden. no place is compared with Mediterranean countries and that is why people work the whole year in scandinavia to spend only tow or three weeks in Spain or Greece.

How bout the traffic, corrupt government, drugs, child rape, teenage pregnancy, poverty and one of the dirtiest country in the world? I am so sad that most of them dont understand this. These countries are the happiest country to live in because they pay high taxes for a social safety net, they trust their government, they live in freedom and they are generous with each other. They do care about each other. That's the kind of place people want to live. Where it is SAFE and CLEAN.

What's with all the comments about Philippines deserving to be included in this list? It is nowhere near happy as can be observed from the millions of Filipinos immigrating abroad. Low employment, high in corruption, poor infrastructure, low quality education and healthcare, etc. Yes, we are very hospitable, friendly and smile through the bad times but our resiliency should not be romanticized. We should already be tired of it and I know we deserve more. Face it, we are nowhere near those Nordic countries in the list who deserve to be there because their government care about their people (free educ, free healthcare, maternity leave, work vacation grants, etc) which is the reason the residents there are happy. Our country doesn't have that therefore we SHOULD NOT be in that list. We could be in that list if we start lowering our pride, get educated and start electing GOOD leaders.

Real Happy People are who find happiness and content with what they have, being grateful for what they've got and know how to share them to others. One real index of a happy country is that the people living in choose to stay and continue to live on despite the odds. No matter the circumstances, they remain happy because everyone knows how to be happy and compassionate, thus viral spreaders of happiness. Foreign nationals find The Philippines such a happy country primarily because we find happiness first by way of our communion with our loved ones, neighborhoods and communities over personal welfare, individual pleasure and material things. The Filipinos knew that to be happy means to be happy as one, one people one nation.

Bonus: warm weather & great food:) & Canada has 4 beautiful seasons & road trips are awesome during the summer! People there are also relatively friendly & helpful! Bonus: free healthcare for citizens, lots of benefits for the elderly, and variety of great food choices since it’s multicultural💙❤️💛

Perspectives from a Filipina in Norway: My introvert and reflective self thrives better here than in the Philippines. If you associate "happiness" for "always smiling", you don't get that vibe here. People are happy because of the safety nets that are put in place. Happiness means predictability, efficiency, trust. Plus, the natural beauty is out of this world! Filipinos on the other hand are happy-go-lucky! I think that's the reason why they don't take life seriously. Natural catastrophes are a regular occurence, laws are just suggestions, people live day-by-day. If you're the bohemian type, Philippines is perfect. There are over 7,600 islands to suit your fancy. There's no such thing as a standard adobo recipe . You do you! The ideal society is of course striking a balance between these two opposing values: forward thinking and regimented but still be vivacious and present.

Who you can trust or not, is not related to what goverment you have or not…. I might trust the goverment in Norway. But there is alot happening behind the scene in all countries and all companies. I have been disapointed many times in life by several people, that I believed I could trust, but they didnt show their true face, this was in Norway, and theese people where Norwegians. For me its hard to trust new people because of bad experiences , Norwegians as persons are not better people than anyone else, just better goverment than someother countries have. I dont trust a person more or less based on nationality, its from person to person! And by the way, most people live day by day in Norway to…. Havn’t you notice this??
@inaceleste56043 жыл бұрын
@@kk440635NORWAY I understand where you're coming from. When I say trust culture in Norway it means for example renting a cabin out in the woods without ever been meeting the owner or buying local produce thru Vipps, again without the farmer in sight. This never happens in the Philippines. As per your example, I know well enough that some Norwegians do act like jerks. As expected, it's human nature. We read about Norwegian employers who lie, abuse and do underhanded things against foreign workers for example. Some industries are more prone to these tactics. Fortunately laws are in place to combat these practices. I worked overseas prior to landing a job here, and yes the conditions are much, much better. But, it doesn't mean that I should be complacent. I learned the hard way. I shouldn't be a "yes girl" all the time, all under the guise of "flexibility, cooperation, goodwill, etc".
@inaceleste56043 жыл бұрын
@@kk440635NORWAY Hmm, Norwegians living day by day is not the same as the Filipinos living day by day. Norway: Most of us are bank slaves, some say we exist in 47 weeks and live in 5 weeks (during holidays). Yes, life does seem as a constant repititive motion and it's easy to get caught into the rut. The trick is to be present and see our surroundings with new eyes. Philippines: Depending on where you live, there's always a threat looming in the air be it natural or man-made. Most people who live in typhoon-ravaged places just shrug the typhoon advisory off. Until Haiyan came. Most people don't really talk about their future plans. Some have a fatalistic approach to life, que sera sera. In Norway everything's regimented. We have to set an appointment with our family and friends (the ones who live in other regions/ coasts) as everyone's got a job and everything in between. Today husband and I are already discussing about our summer holiday plans; at work our holidays are already plotted before 31st March. If it's spontaneity one's looking for - Philippines fits the bill. If it's structure- Norway wins.

you prefer financial and social security as your basis for happiness which makes philippines a better place than norway,just imagine if norway suddenly became a poor country and philippines suddenly become a rich country...the norwegians will no longe rhave reason to smile while the filipinos will have bigger smiles on their faces..i hope you get my point

Smiling doesn't always mean happy. If you see someone smiling, you may think he/she's being happy, but inside, you won't even know they're being really happy or not. If someone is smiling a lot, that means he/she is friendly. Friendly and happy are not the same thing. But anyway, I still love Phillipines tho. :) I'm just speaking out some fact.
