The perfect run daredevil Super Mario Galaxy 2. Unlocking this star requires you to have collected all 120 normal stars and all the green stars and attempting this star is unbelievable brutal because if you die at any point you go all the way back to the beginning of the level.

Yes The 2:00 run on Facility on 00 agent was such BS. OMG!!!!!! Why did you have to remind me of that RNG nightmare with that Dr Doak have 5 random spawn locations. Just cause you ran everything flawless just to have that run ruined all cause the Dr has spawned in the far alllll the damn way in the back. That one thing to unlock, never before did my 64 receive such abuse to the reset button

The AX Pilots were extremely hard to unlock in F-Zero GX. In order to unlock all of them, you have to beat the story mode on Very Hard difficulty. And that game was already difficult enough. But, my god, once you unlock them, you practically feel like a god!

alternatively you could unlock them by using the same memory card with an F-Zero AX arcade machine....though finding one was as hard as story mode ( never found an AX machine, and have never been able to get more than a few chapters into story mode...thank god I have an Action Replay, I'm not remotely ashamed of using it )

There were so many things to unlock in Goldeneye that were very difficult for me. I don't know how or remember exactly all of it because I know there were a lot of better players out there than me. I guess a little bit of luck especially getting the invincibility cheat in the facility level with Dr. Doak. I have the Goldeneye strategy guide too which helped a lot. I also played Earthbound and don't remember getting the sword of kings. Then in Super Mario RPG I think I got around 12 super jumps in.

There’s also the Expert Mode in most of the Star Fox games. The easiest way is also the most expensive: Using both Amiibos for the game. There’s two characters that have a compatible Amiibo with Zero, and they are Fox and Falco. Fox unlocks the Retro Arwing while Falco unlocks the Black one.

The obnoxiousness of recruiting Xavier in FE5 can't be overstated. In terms of raw time commitment, it's not the worst. Not by a long shot. But the aggravation is just... wow. There are... I think 10 NPCs that need to talk to 10 armor knights. But each is a specific pair. And you can't really keep track of them. So even when you set up the conditions perfectly, the NPCs are going to travel down a narrow hallway, and cause a complete traffic jam. You'll need to pick them up individually in order to create space for others to move, and just just hope that the one you revealed a path for will make its way into the right open location. Then the armored knights become NPCs, and they're probably asleep (assuming you're approaching this right) and still taking up tiles, continuing to just make it incredibly tedious to manuever around. Even harder in fact, as the armored knight's high Con makes it the number of units that can pick them up is quite limited. Compared to many of the other tasks here, it's not hugely time consuming. And it's likely not the hardest. But it is BY FAR the most finnicky, and in my eyes, most frustrating.

P.S. I would like to nominate getting a full set of trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee and its successor, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I did get all 290 of the trophies in Melee (Diskun is probably the hardest, but Crazy Hand is in the running as well), but never got two of the 544 in Brawl (Never bothered to get Meta Ridley, and whichever one you get for beating Boss Battles on Intense difficulty; American players can NOT use a hammer to get the latter!)

I remember getting the bombers ring in Zelda. It was probably one of the most frustrating things I've ever done in a video game. I hated it so much. Part of the problem was just seeing what you're supposed to do properly. Especially on a gameboy color screen. That minigame is why I never replayed Oracle of seasons. Every time I think about replaying it I remember that stupid mini game and I just nope right out of playing it again.

I did the Starfox one, basically you had to reach Venom's backdoor with a boosted ship. You could then shoot down Star Wolf's crew before they hit the ground earning you the necessary points. We tried doing the front door, felt impossible to get 100.

There are some examples I can list: 1. Mario's Puzzle Party Pro (Mario Party 3) To unlock this one, you have to beat Game Guy's Game Room, which is heavily dependent on luck. Unlocking this room involves getting the Miracle Star rank in Story Mode, which is more difficult than it sounds. 2. Louie's Dark Secret (Pikmin 2) This is a secret cutscene that can only be unlocked by getting all Perfect Clears in Challenge Mode. This is far easier said than done, because to get a Perfect, you need to ensure all your Pikmin survive in each stage. 3. World 9 (Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels) The condition to unlock this world is simple: Clear the game without using any warp zones. This game however, is far from easy. It will challenge your Mario skills to the ultimate test. 4. Player Cards and Former Partner Cards (Super Paper Mario) There are 3 optional challenges, one unlocked in the post-game, where you can win cards based on the playable characters, and those based on partners from the previous games. They are all endurance challenges, so there are no checkpoints or saving between rest zones. The Flopside Pit of 100 Trials give you cards of the partners from the first game as you clear each 10th floor on your 1st time, but you have to clear the pit a second time to challenge the pit's final enemy and win the player cards, which make you stronger and stay in 3D indefinitely, but take twice as much damage. And the Sammer Guy Kumite will award you cards based on the partners from The Thousand Year Door. 5. Playable Zephiel (Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade) Get the True Ending 9 times. That's already insane as the requirements for the True Ending is cryptic enough. 6. Sturm and Von Bolt (Advance Wars 2 and Dual Strike respectively) To unlock Sturm for Versus mode, you have to beat the Hard Campaign with an S Rank overall. Doing the same with the Normal Campaign unlocks Hachi instead. As Sturm doesn't appear in Dual Strike, Von Bolt can be unlocked by simply clearing the Hard Campaign. Advance Wars Hard Campaigns tend to be extremely difficult. Good Luck... ...unless you're playing Re-Boot Camp, then the unlock condition isn't as bad: Just beat the Advance Wars 2 Normal Campaign 100%, which means you have to complete all missions within each country including the unlockable lab missions before completing the factory mission.

The koopaling cards and Bowsers castle card in Paper Mario Color Splash are also a nightmare to get. After defeating the respective boss, you have to win the cards in a rock paper scissors battle that depends entirely on luck. If you don't get the card after two tries, one of which is only because you pay someone to let you in again, you have to get a small paint star just to try again. I always get two, one for myself and one for the museum, so it's already annoying.

The hardest unlockable I've obtained in a Nintendo game has to be the AX racers in F-Zero GX. Beating every story mode chapter on Very Hard is a tough ordeal in and of itself, but the worst one for me to get was Pink Spider. Chapter 7 on Very Hard is a NIGHTMARE.

I really wouldn't call Super Mario Wonder's final bonus level one of the hardest in any Mario game. I thought they were actually quite merciful. First, there are checkpoints. Most 'final test' levels have you start over from the beginning after one mistake. Yes, they're spaced out between a few sections, but the fact that they exist is a generosity you don't usually get in levels like this. Second, while there are 10 sections to the level, each section is generally quite short, and a good half of them aren't particularly difficult. Most of my deaths (out of 50 or so) came from the same 3 sections. The annoying part is that two of those were in the same group, so dying on the later one meant running through the first one I kept dying on again. And finally, if you're using the online functionality and there happen to be other players around, you can take advantage of the standees to revive yourself.

Anything that is an enemy drop or mini-game reward is not an unlockable. There are zero requirements to unlock them other than either killing enough enemies/getting lucky enough for the item to drop, or playing the mini-game enough until you get the item. There are several items in Earthbound that all have a 1 in 128 chance to drop from an enemy. The only difference with the Sword of Kings is that you have a limited window to farm for it as the area eventually becomes inaccessible after you complete it. It is no different than any other game that has enemy drops. If you think a 1 in 128 chance is bad, then may I point you to the Slime Staff in Terraria which has a 1 in 10,000 chance to drop. At least for true “unlockables” you are at least guaranteed to get them when you meet the requirements whereas enemy drops and random mini-game rewards completely rely on RNG and have no requirements other than getting lucky enough to get them.

Mario Wonder's secret unlockable item is insanely hard to get, especially since I completed the last level only because other online players saved my ass thousand times. The way I cleared the game was hilarious. I remember GoldenEye 007 was brutal. I never unlocked Egypt despite countless hours of play. I also feel like BOTW Master Mode Trial of the Sword deserves a special mention as well, that you have to complete to fully upgrade the Master Sword.

Because of that Mario Kart Wii is Always Near of my Heart and it was so Nostalgic to see Mario Kart Wii in This video and Yeah No one hasn't ever Mii Character in Mario Kart Wii because it's too Hard to Get that but There was Our Mii Characters in Cars in Coconut Mall Track what was funny and Now i'm Sad There is only a Shy Guys in those Cars and first Cars even didin't moved than when it was fixed. In my opinion Collecting all Stars in Super Mario Galaxy Games and Collecting all The Heart Pieces in The Legend of Zelda Games are The Hardest Unlockables too. I don't know about you, but I feel like unlocking Ness in SSB64 is harder than it needed to be. You have to beat 1P mode on normal mode or higher difficulty, with 3 lives and no continues.

Just unlocking expert mode alone in Star Fox 64 was seriously difficult as f*ck. Once you got the expert mode, the second medal on venom wasn't difficult at all because in expert mode, there are more enemies in each stage, making it easier to get the medals.

Sector Z is the only medal that should give you any sort of difficulty regardless. On most levels you can get double the medal requirement if you have the enemy patterns memorized and use a little strategy.

@nicholasharvey1232 Area 6 was the most difficult one for me. I only got it after watching several video walkthroughs on how to do it. What made it so hard for me was the fact that not only do you need to kill a certain number of enemies (300), but you also need to have all of your wingmen alive both at the start and end of the level to get the medal. This basically means that all of your wingmen need to start area 6 with a lot of health, so they don't die in the level. After struggling so much to get the area 6 medal on normal mode, I just simply did not struggle at all to get any of the medals on expert mode.

@@fjcarmo0369 If anything Area 6 is to me one of the easier levels to get a medal on, despite having the highest medal requirement. You should be able to get at least 500 here if you know the level well. My personal best is 603 but top players can even get 700+! And TAS runs have even gotten over 800!

Sector Z and Katina were the hardest planets to get medals on for me in Expert Mode. Both required taking out small groups as quickly as you can and remembering their patterns. It was absolutely worth it once you pulled it off.

@@PassionFlame64 For Katina you just want to kill as much as possible, as quickly as possible. Think of it like the Multi-Man events in the Smash Bros. games where you try to kill the wireframe guys as fast as you can. Bring some bombs from Meteo and use those when a lot of enemy ships cluster together. Just go all out. The mothership's hatches open whenever the supply of enemies is running low, so the faster you get kills, the more often the hatches open, and the more likely they are to be open when the energy reaction occurs (giving you an extra 24 points). Personal best here is 268 but the best players get 300+. You just have to be careful not to collide with other ships, as on Expert mode this means broken wings and a downgraded laser. Oh Sector Z , fly in a large clockwise circle around the map and look for those weird looking boxes. Those give you 3 points each. If your wingmen get attacked, don't save them immediately (if they can spare some damage) whenever there are missiles approaching as they'll try to kill-steal. And of course try to take the warp from Sector X as then you won't have to compete with Katt for missile kills. If you started the level without an upgraded laser, one of the enemies should drop an upgrade, which will greatly help with the missiles. If you can get the kills on all six missiles that's 66 points. You can get about 30 more points from those aforementioned boxes, and using the little spare time you have to take out the enemy ships for those few extra points. You should still be able to get the 100 points even if you miss one of the missile kills. 120+ is very much possible once you know what to do, and 150+ is possible if you get rid of your wingmen but you won't get the medal that way.

It is not that difficult to get the images in Dread. Collectibles are super easy to find since you already know the location of hidden areas as soon as you enter an area, which also gives you the completion percentage. Also the game is very easy to beat in like a little over 3 hours and the hard mode is not too different from the normal mode. You would basically just have to beat the game 3 times. That's like 20 hours

For me Mario Wonder was not that hard but the last special stage was definitely difficult it took me a couple days I think it almost took me a week to beat the last special stage the other special stages they were hard but it wasn't that hard they wasn't that hard I meant but that last special stage was the pain in the ass

I hate Badge Marathon without preparation of not getting hit during the first six segments just to prepare for that goddamn Spring Feet segment AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON INVISIBILITY SEGMENT! I can enjoy Metroid Dread 100% completion under 4 hours on Hard when the game not fuck with me such as those goddamn Chozo Robots, some annoying Speed Boost puzzles, & DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THOSE FUCKING EMMI ROBOTS! If there's a remake of Zelda Oracle series, that Rhythm minigame needs to be toned down in difficulty just to get the Bomber's Ring easier. ALSO, FUCK POKEMON COLISEUM FOR WASTING ONE OF MY SUMMER IN MY PAST LIFE! SOMECALLMEJOHNNY WAS RIGHT ABOUT SKIPPING THIS FRUSTRATING INCARNATE HELL OF A POKEMON GAME!
