1. Barbell- Olympic 2. Weights- Iron for most. Rubber also good idea, especially if you’re dropping weight. 3. Rack-preferably power rack 4. Bench- flat is fine but get adjustable if you want to do iso work 5. Dumbbells- get adjustable. It’s worth it. 6. Kettlebells - 35 and 53 lbs are enough to start. 7. Rings/pull up bar- versatile. I’d suggest a pull/up bar dip station hybrid from OneTwoFit. 8. Conditioning machine - Bike/rower/sled 9. Floor mats - horse stall mats suggested. DO NOT waste your hard earned money on foam mats. 10. Leaf blower - because reasons.

how many young men found dead bench pressing have you encoutered in your career? no disrespect but i dont believe it. Few cases a year nationwide? sure, i would believe that, but unless you are benching like 3 plates the weight definetly wouldnt outright kill most guys, you can definetly wiggle your way out as long as you can breath, very painful and slow, but surely you ll get out at last. Iam just talking from my experience and i have no data, correct me if iam wrong, iam just curious about this topic and i mean no disrespect. Its no joke getting stuck under a bench and its easy to get hurt that way, but i dont believe many people actually manage to die like this.

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the kzbin.infoUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

@sebastianarze1614
@sebastianarze1614 3 жыл бұрын
If you can get the plates and only want the bars, I suggest you look up on ebay, a pair of black and red ones that specifically say 18" long. I had a pair of steel dumbells but the length became an issue, I couldn't fit more than 65lbs (without buying more efficient plates). With the longer ones I can fit 2x5kg 2x 2.5kg 2x1.25 kg Each side and have a LOT of extra room. With this setup you can do 5lbs to 77lbs. With more 5kg plates to make it more efficient you could do 5 x each side maybe 6 so between 110-130 pounds. Cons: -They are not metal. Feel cheap but I've tested them loading everything on one side and they don't bend at all -The handle. I would prefer a knurled handle instead of a "comfy one" Pros: -Extra length -They barely weigh anything so you only have to factor in the plates, not the handles which with the metal ones are super in consistent. Also, this one's are for standard 1" plates. I now have some oly sized plates but still wouldn't go for an oly dumbbell, they just don't look right to me, specially if loading any of the big size discs

100% to everything on your list. Stall mats and the leaf blower are two great tips that might not be obvious to someone starting out. One additional tip is to use wide black Gorilla duct tape to tape the seams between the stall mats. This will prevent them from sliding apart and dust and dirt getting into the cracks, which will happen if you work out with the garage door open alot. Will keep the gym much neater and nicer to use.

Made the mistake of buying adjustable dumbbells a while back. Yeah they’re space savers for sure, but I almost immediately realized that switching weight with pairs of dumbbells is significantly faster and easier than adjustables, not to mention that most adjustables can’t be safely dropped and the bulky design makes doing some iso movements absurdly difficult. If I could go back and change one thing, buying pairs instead of adjustables would be it. As always, great content Coop. 🤙🏾 EDIT: I have Powerblock Elite Exp with stage kits 2 and 3, just in case anyone was curious to what my complaints are in reference to.

I'd rather have plain ol' dumbbells. You don't need a full set. Most people will probably only use a fraction of it, especially beginners, and most will just use a bar and plates when they start going heavy. Get 2 or 3 pairs to start out with then add more later on if you need to. They really don't take up that much space, there are plenty of ways to organize them and no need to have them laid out individually like a commercial gym would. They're extremely versatile and will last a lifetime, plus can be pretty cheap if you stick to lighter pairs. A good investment if you ask me.

@@ig7036 Agreed. I've been slowly building a collection of dumbbells for 17 years, but after spending $100 on a set of 50s (which was a good deal), and then needing room to go heavier, and having some irritating weight gaps (I only have one 35lb, which is my current working weight for several movements, but buying a second one is at least $45), I just decided to pull the trigger on the Nuobell 80s. I get all those gaps filled in, plus I get the equivalent of all the pairs of heavier dumbbells up to 80 lbs in five pound increments, which is where the value of the adjustables really shines. My brother got a set of Core 50s with a stand, and while I thought 50 lbs was a bit too light for the max, the simplicity, ergonomics, and convenience of the setup was really appealing.

@@girlsdrinkfeck Idk man, all I have are two crappy adjustable dumbbells that come in handy in emergency times and cost something like 50€ including the additional 5 kg plates (intended for the cheap-ass companion barbell I guess, but if it fits...) I bought. 2 kg (handle) to 20 kg (all loaded) both sides, or up to 30 kg if you put everything you can fit on one. They do not look good, screwing the nut on and off to change weight is a pain, but they take no space, have lasted me more than 10 years and other than the threaded bar and nut jutting out of the end they have exactly the same ergonomics of the regular cylindrical set. If I had a barbell, rack and bench to do heavy stuff I would totally be fine with just that, and without the aforementioned space-hungry and costly stuff those Chinese dumbbells have saved most of what little muscle I had before lockdowns and will continue to do so until I can get my ass back to lifting with homies on the way back from work.

+10 on the leaf blower. My garage is was built in the 50's. I have finished it, insulated it, clean it constantly- and some how dust rains down from the ceiling. When we do wall ball shots, you almost need safety glass. The leaf blower is a life saver for getting 70 percent of the crap out of the workout space in minutes (when you're done using it, you'll think it got 90 percent out, but another 20 percent will linger in the air and settle back into your gym after a few days)
