Brilliant, lots of people produce videos of songs on KZbin and say use this pattern or that without showing the timing. That is crucial for me. Thanks

Showing the patterns in a song is so helpful and gives us something to practice with instead of just doing the motion. Great video

Really good guys, I prefer the 1 & or 1 e & a. Type language as it helps me feel where I am within each beat more easily. If that makes any sense 😊
@williameddy99192 жыл бұрын
That last strumming pattern you said is for funk is also a disco rhythm. My guitar teacher taught me that disco was based on the 16th note. You constantly play 16th notes and you mute some of those notes by lifting your chord hand to give it a disco groove.

As a "non-dominant hand strummer" I doubt I'll ever get to that level in patterns no matter how much I practice 😅😅 so I'm going for the "Down-Up-Smack-Up" pattern, which is seriously challenging enough already haha, ..my hand keep wanna add an extra down in the end or replace the up with it.. heh...

Thanks for the video, but since this doesn’t cover ALL of the strumming patterns, what if the song is ANOTHER strumming pattern? Are these the most COMMON ones? How do I figure out other ones, especially if the pattern changes in the song? Thanks

The Wonderwall strumming only seems elaborate because you’ve taken it out of the context of the chords. Focused on the actual chord changes, it’s simple. Good video.

IMHO, for Faith, the pattern should be : D . . U . . D . . U D . D . X X 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a That's how it fits if you keep your strumming hand moving up and down through the beat. In fact she does play it like that at the start (10:16), but still missing the subtle UD.

i wish for the more complex strumming patterns that you would go thru it at speed before jumping straight into the song - it's difficult to make the transition from half to full speed while also trying to keep track of the chords. it feels like there's a step missing and it's really frustrating rolling the same 5 second loop back bc you also didn't repeat it like you said :/
