During Robtop's past development, he had worked on Forlorn, a lost mobile game that never got released to the public. This game surprisingly shares very similar, if not, reused assets from Geometry Dash nowadays. Why was this game cancelled though? How did people end up finding this Robtop game?

After watching this I feel like I understand more on why RobTop came up with Platformer Mode. I wouldn't be surprised if aside from the editor possibilities, it was also a way for him to go back and try more traditional platforming again.

Yeah I honestly could understand why. I should’ve noted in the video that Rob left Forlorn bc it was too ambitious for one of, if not, his first projects ever, but oh well. I feel like with our current editor, we already have just about anything, we only thing we need level is platformer saving (which I’m aware is a mod but I meant in vanilla gd).
