@floaltea5 жыл бұрын
Yes, thank you ! It can also be a declaration of war. It refers to the crossing of the Rubicon in 49 BC. The Rubicon was a river that separated Gaule (now France) from Rome (now Italy). Crossing it with an army was forbidden. But when Julius Caesar, after his conquest of Gaule, crossed the Rubicon with his army, he basically declared war to the Senate and to the Republic, took over the country and started the Roman Empire. I've always thought it was cool that the 100 chose such a historical event for an episode title.

Lexa let those people die because if they left for any reason such as a fire or reapers, Mount Weather would know they have an inside man. If Bellamy is captured, they won’t have another chance to get into Mount Weather and they will lose the war. Many more would die. Sometimes you have to sacrifice pawns in war just like Robb Stark at he whispering wood. The main grounder army was in the woods not in TonDC. There are more people who are in danger inside Mount Weather than were killed in the bombing. Mount Weather thinks it’s over and they won. They won’t expect the grounder army to attack.

I really don't agree that this makes Clarke worse than Finn, Finn actively killed innocent civilians for no damn reason, while Clarke allowed people to die in an inactive way, for an important strategic purpose, which is simply the job of leaders during a war, how would it be more moral to ruin their entire strategy and losing the war just to save a few soldiers, when soldiers will die no matter what she does? In the end Mount Weather fired the missile, not Clarke, Clarke simply made the choice that she thinks will result in the fewest casualties in the long term, because their entire strategy hinges on Bellamy and doing anything else would have exposed him.
@msbkaioken1364 жыл бұрын
Doing anything else would have exposed him huh that's hilarious considering he's expose anyway the very next episode that's the only reason Clark went along with it and she was wrong just like it was wrong for her to decide whose lives where important she's being a hypocrite and acting exactly the way the council used to which is what at the beginning of the show she didn't want to be

@@msbkaioken136 I think that's the point of Clarke's arc tho. In s1 she was a teenage girl who didnt know better. She had no idea what leadership actually meant, especially during a war. None of them knew because they were never in such position so it was pretty easy for them to judge and disagree with the adults. Season 2, 3 and 4 especially explore how the kids learn what it means to be an adult and a leader, that sometimes there's no choice but to make sacrifices and "be bad" for the greater good and the survival of their people. Its not hypocrisy, is growing up and start to know better through experience like we all do.

The bomb in Ton DC was necessary, if Lexa had warn the orhers, the mountain man would know that someone is there (Bellamy) they would have kill him and he couldn’t be able to deactivate the toxic thing and if he haven’t deactivated that thing they couldn’t even go outside of the door of mount weather. You've gotta put yourself in their shoes, they only had maybe 10-15 minutes, I mean what was we really expecting ? If evacuations started happening the missile would have been launched sooner. If a fire was started, grounders would do what grounders do as seen in the village massacre...try to put out the fire, Lexa would have had to approach all 12 leaders and tell them what was going on, wouldn't have been quick enough. It's plenty to think of now, but you can't think about how to evac everyone and argue with Lexa in that short span of time. They did what they though was right, sacrifice the few to save the many. Also Lexa probably knows from experience that Mt Weather has more than just the one missile. If Mt Weather were to spot them at any point they could send down more missiles which would result in even more deaths. Clarke and Lexa made the right decision.
@MiriamGarcia-uw7fi5 жыл бұрын
The bombing was not necessary. If Lexa had been receptive to Clarke's proposal of starting a fire, they could have evacuated without altering MW of an inside man. Lexa just chose not to do so for the potential gain (rallying the people, eliminating her potential enemies). >If evacuations started happening the missile would have been launched sooner. It potentially wouldn't have been launched at all. The reason MW decided to attack at this moment was because all their targets were concentrated in one space. If they began evacuating, they'd be scattered about. It wouldn't have been an effective attack.
@msbkaioken1364 жыл бұрын
What kind of garbage argument was that they find out Bellamy is there the next episode trash argument if they try to evacuate the missile would have been launched sooner not likely considering the fact the guy was trying to find out who was all there and get coordinates that takes time as well the point about starting a fire I don't even understand because you didn't explain it well enough then you just say vaguely they were right no they weren't

Yeah Lexa is generally a bad influence on Clarke on the show in my opinion. She sees her as this leader figure and this decision to let them bomb the TonDc was tottaly on her. Clarke wanted to do something and she came to Lexa for some kind of advice/help with that and Lexa just told her - ok let's get the hell out of here this is our only option basically.

@gabrielcarrasco84145 жыл бұрын
She wasn't a bad influence. As a person yes, as a leader no. Leaders can't always look to save everyone. Clarke went for advice out of concern, but the problem was that if they did indeed evacuate there is no guarantee that the army is safe anyway. Two they would know that there was a spy within their ranks. Given the small population within Mount Weather it wouldn't have taken too long to figure out that Belamy was not one of them. If they lose Bellamy they lose the only method of turning off the acid fog.
@MiriamGarcia-uw7fi5 жыл бұрын
@@peakyblinders372 Absolutely not. Clarke never wanted this. Lexa made her believe she did, Lexa pushed her into doing this by battering Clarke's confidence. Now, the reason Clarke didn't just announce the missile on her arrival was because of the chaos that would ensue. In case you've forgotten, she learned this lesson that hard way in S1 when she, without thinking it through, publicly accused Murphy of murder resulting in him being hanged. She did not secretly desire this. It was never her idea. Her first instinct was to save everyone. She fought Lexa hard on this but lost.

If they had started a fire, it would have seemed natural and would not have alerted MW to an intruder. Lexa just didn't want to do it.

@@MiriamGarcia-uw7fi Because it's alarming. All of a sudden, a fire is lit right when they're about to get fucked, and from Mt. Weathers point of view, there's really nothing that should alarm them other than the fact that they're about to be blown to bits? Not to mention the fact that even if they did evacuate, that wouldn't stop Mount Weather from targeting them until they were dead. It would only result in more deaths. This was the most plausible route to go within the few minutes span that they had to even discuss a missile coming for them. Also, Lexa never made Clarke believe she wanted this. In fact it's made blatantly clear in later episodes that Clarke still held resentment towards Lexa's decision, and put all that responsibility on top of Lexa's shoulders because it wasn't the choice Clarke wanted to make. In the end, Clarke could see it was the most rational decision at the time, but she never once wanted it, and Lexa never once even attempted to convince her that she *wanted* it, simply that it was necessary.

I kinda wish they would do Sex Education since Chris liked Skins. Or even You would be cool to see their thoughts and discussions on the craziness that goes down

"So she was worse than Finn." Indeed she is and don't you forget this later!
@S1INS5 жыл бұрын
Nah Finn killed 16 innocent people, of his own free will, not for the greater good. Clarke didn't inform everyone about the missile for the greater good, because Mt. Weather most definitely would've sent another missile if they saw Clarke and Lexa still alive, meaning it wouldn't have mattered if they evacuated with everyone cause a missile would still be sent down, cause you can't hide that many people in the woods lol.

Miriam Garcia Thought they were referring to Clarke

@@S1INS Chris was referring to Clarke. But I think Mickey was referring to Lexa. Prior to making that comment, he had been focused on the fact Lexa let all the leaders die. So it seemed it was a (delayed) comment directed at Lexa.
