Lexa already IS the “queen of everything”, the issue is her control over her vassal clans was already weak and everything that happened at the end of season 2 (the peace treaty with the mountain, the bombing, etc.) undermined faith in her leadership enough that people are making plays for the throne. They call it a “coalition” but the Commander is basically their term for the high queen.

Lexa already controls the Ice Nation as commander, the Ice Queen, who leads the Ice Nation, feels that she should be the commander now because they view Lexa as weak for what she did at Mount Weather. They want Clarke out of the way because they view her as a threat and Lexa wants Clarke on her side because she needs an ally who is viewed as a "strong" leader by the other grounders.

lexa is not trying to be commander of everything..heda(commander) is commander of everything..and coalition means..finaly stop fighting between the clans..and every clan has its leader..commander is like in got..king of 7kingdoms in the 100 its 12..and all 12 clans are grounders and every clan has its way to chose a leader like in ice nation clan leader is king/gueen but heda commander of all 12 is chosen differently by different standards.

He's probably the most hateable character on all of television, but you aren't supposed to like him. Spoilers for Seasons 3, 5 and 6: I thought it was quite interesting when he was brought back as a mirror to Bloodreina and his conversation with Octavia about how she stopped his redemption arc by killing him, which made me reflect on the character slightly differently by the end.

Same. I only got into the show again in season 5. That's how much season 3 and Pike ruined the show for me :D It's one thing to have a character be hateable (and make them supposed to be disliked) but at least make them interesting and not incredibly frustrating

@popnlock yes all the clans have their own leadership but Lexa is the boss boss, if she wanted to she can control the whole clan with a simple order. The clans all answer to her when the time comes.

Taylor ! It’s not really that simple. Lexa is the first commander to unite the 12 clans into a coalition and maintaining it is a balancing act. Lexa wants them all to unite as one people(wonkru)because she thinks it’ll benefit her people greatly. However the reason she gave the clans for uniting was to take down the mountain. The commander is suppose to be an absolute monarch but their whole society seems more feudalistic. She has to keep each clan happy and maintain her place as the strongest in order to continue to rule. So while she’s technically suppose to be the boss of all them, she can’t just demand something of a clan or “control them with a simple word”. The whole coalition/commander thing is actually really political. Azgeda was the hardest to bring into the fold and she had to give them a lot of things in order for them to join(I won’t spoil). And Ice nation having a king/Queen is significant. The other clans don’t have one because Lexa fills that role. Azgeda is outright stating that while they’re part of the coalition, they don’t acknowledge her as their supreme ruler. Azgeda has its own war chiefs and whatnot as well. There is one issue I’ve always had with the commander, and that’s what power did they hold before Lexa? It’s stated that Lexa was the first to make a coalition, so what did the commander rule over before? My best guest is that they were like the Pythia of the grounder world or some other religious leader.

All i am saying is that Lexa as Commander has the power to force the clans to obey only her, but she doesn't because she actually wants peace, and is smart. She is a visisionary and stronger than anyone I have ever seen. I also had the same question. Who did the past Commanders rule over id Lexa was the one who cteayd the coalition. My guess was past commanders had some alliances witg other clabs and rules over them, but Lexa was the first to rule over the 12 clans, make a full time alliance with all the clans.

Peaky Blinders It was stated a lot throughout mostly s3 - 5 that Lexa wanted to unite all the clans into one clan. It’s one of the reasons she was considered a visionary. I can’t think of an exact scene, but I’m quite sure they bring it up a lot after her death.

The AI(Alie aka [A Lie]) used the missile Jaha came down in to create the chips her device to carry her.I doubt the City of Light was a thing as the world ended and the missiles fired (By Her) I assume people saw the solar panel lights as the City of Lights and Alie took advantage of that by creating a digital city using chips that Jaha helped her build as John was locked up.so now there really is a City of Light as they call it.
