Mass genocide before Thanos made it cool, it's just how people express themselves in this show. Me, when Jer said he liked Maya and knowing what was coming and not being able to say anything was tough. I wish I could say that things will get easier for Jasper, but that'd be a lie. Also, we need to start a suicide/attempted suicide counter, because it happens way too much in this series to not be called out. The show desperately needed a PSA at the end of every episode that this occurs in.

Maya was so sweet 😩 Not just an innocent, but actually went out of her way to be good. I hated that she died but at the same time have no idea what else Clarke and co could’ve done since they didn’t know about Jasper’s plan (who’s to say the plan would’ve even worked). She was probably one of my favourite characters this season.

LOVE Bellamy so much this episode. He didn’t want Clarke to have to shoulder the responsibility alone so he pulled the lever with her and then repeating her words back to her giving her the same forgiveness she once gave him😭 Like no matter what people feel about Bellamy and Clarke, if you ship them or prefer them as friends, you can’t deny they’re relationship is SO IMPORTANT to the show and Bob and Eliza play it beautifully. They have one my favorite dynamics in TV

Irradiating level 5 is an unfortunate circumstance because it was the only option like Bellamy said Cage and the rest were never going to stop, they would never be safe and they would all die, one way or another even if Jasper killed Cage. he would be shot down by the other guards, the guards would have killed Maya and Octavia and then Emerson would have blown open the door and Killed Clarke, Bellamy, and Monty. Clarke was the one to come up with the plan initially but her seeing Abby on the table and Bellamy seeing Octavia getting surrounded, Bellamy then chose to pull the lever with her so that Clarke wouldn't deal with doing it on her own and they would share the burden together, along with Monty who made it all possible to irradiate the level in the first place. It was an unfortunate thing they had to do, killing innocents, especially Maya and they didn't know about Jasper's plan but this huge decision wouldn't have happened if Lexa hadn't betrayed Clarke in the last episode. I love that moment between Bellamy and Clarke in this episode, you can see how desperate Bellamy is as he's trying to get Clarke back into camp, that she's forgiven and that's she's not alone because they did it together and they can go through dealing with the trauma and what they had to do in the mountain together but in the end, Clarke bears it so everyone else's doesn't have to then they hug and she gives him a smooch on the cheek (even though we wish it was on the lips), says their may we meet against and then she walks into the woods alone as funnily enough, Bellamy has already walked quickly to the entrance to the camp as it pans to Clarke walking away. Bellamy walks back into camp, having to deal with the burden of what he did together with Clarke on his own and take care of the rest of their friends alone which makes me sad for him especially.

The best review I saw of this episode is that the audience assumes that killing all of the sky people or killing all of the mountain men would be killing too many main characters, so they spend about 15 minutes of the episode waiting to see how the episode writers will provide an off ramp, a way to deescalate and resolve the conflict short of genocide. The writers never give them that off ramp.

I'm loving the impossible moral dilemmas in this show. If she didn't pull the lever, fewer people would have died, but all of her friends would have been killed. If she did pull the lever after her threats were ignored, 8 times more people would have died, but all remaining of her people would have lived. (because if I recall correctly that they could extra about 8 doses of bone marrow per person before they died. Since the Mountain Men's leadership were the aggressors here, it makes what she did on behalf of her people as self defense.

Love this episode, probably my third favorite finale of the series. I was waiting for your reaction to Maya's death ever since you said you loved her in episode 1. Also, your reaction to the Bellarke kiss on the cheek is a mood. Season 3 reactions should be interesting, some people love the season while others hate it, I'm more in the middle though it definitely falls below the first two seasons for me.

In jasper's defense, Maya literally died minutes before he said that lmao. He truly believed he could've saved everyone with killing Cage because he didn't think of the bigger picture of the guards only continuing what Cage, the president, was doing (which Bellamy pointed out). It's okay for him to be angry and upset for a little bit. I do agree with people not getting mad or as mad at Bellamy and Monty when they all took an equal part. So many of the characters (and the fans tbh) are quick to forgive other characters actions and decisions but refuse to look at things from Clarke perspective as an teenager trying to keep hundreds of people alive and being forced to make hard decisions by herself sometimes in the matter of seconds.

I had the same idea as you, give Maya bone marrow. I believe that a lot of them would have donated so she could live: Jasper, Monty, Bellamy and even Octavia probably would have donated for her to stay alive. The only issue was there was no way of administering it to her because Abby was locked up/being drilled into and the MW doctors wouldn't help. And because Clarke's threat was to irradiate the Mountain, there was no way they could have waited it out. Very unfortunate that she died, I did really like Maya but I also don't blame Clarke. Cage quite literally cornered them into this situation, he refused to talk, refused donations.. he pushed her to that decision. It was either us or them, kill or be killed. Also, the "gift" ALIE was talking about was the missile that Jaha came down in, that's why he was so shocked to see it.

I will firstly just say R.I.P Maya THE MVP of S2. Hands down. I say this every time. She really deserved to be saved and be welcomed into Skaikru. Something that’s always bothered me about the mountain mens plan. If you only have so many antidotes why are you giving them to people that won’t be able to pass their immunity on. The grandfather although great that he was able to go out again realistically shouldn’t have gotten it. It was a waist of the bone marrow since he won’t be having children to pass that on too and even more so that he died in this eps. Children and young adults should be the focus since they will be the once’s to pass the gene. Really just shows how humans are selfish and even when they are doing things to maintain the life of the species, older people in power take advantage and essentially waste resources.

I just came back to the channel to see you've already done S2. God is good. S1 is easily the worst IMO (doesn't make it bad) and S2 is the best season alongside S6 but the other seasons are easily better than S1. I'll get to watch your reactions for S2 now from ep 1. Hope you're enjoying the show? I read somewhere that the creator had to 'infuse Cw teen troupes' to get the show greenlit for a season 1 before making the story he really wanted to do. And that's why the season is way more cheesy and campy than subsequent seasons.

loving the videos so far jer! cant wait for the upcoming seasons. i dont usually comment, bc i feel no one cares lol but it is slighly annoying how you keep saying you hate the intro bc its not the "Teen Wolf" intro youre used to, which i can tottaly get bc they have a bada$$ intro, just wish you would give it, its own chance since they are two completely different shows. please dont take this the wrong way i really like watching your videos just wish you wouldnt compare the two bc theyre very different shows! Always feel free to comment if you would like! I've watched the intro a few times after episodes & reading comments, it's just not for me. I think this is the first show intro I didn't like tbh.

@@JerBearReacts as a hardcore the 100 fan, the intros are fucking boring and i've never paid much attention to them. however, from watching other reactors i have learned you can get a lot of information from the intros. not anything that important, mostly just where the events happen but if you at least pay attention to the intro in the season premiers you'll do fine

I hated that maya died jasper should’ve been prepared when she got threatened with radiation from by her own people last time but I still feel really bad for him and I got to say I think it was really Bellamy who pulled the lever when he said my sister my responsibility i new he made up his mind. Clark hand was on the lever but he pulled it and she just went with it because her mom was just a few more bone treatments away before getting killed and she still couldn’t do it.
