Is the heavy ‘y’sound an accent from Argentina.? I was told by my Spanish daughter in law to say ….eyo not heavy goh. She is from Madrid! For instance I say ‘ yeeerno for my son in law.

The "Y" and "LL" are pronounced more like a "SH" sound in Argentina and Uruguay. The rest of the regions have a very standard way of pronouncing, some stronger than others, but still very similar :)
