I bought the dual sensor unit from The Tuning School about 2 years ago. I was trying to determine if I had false knock on some Gen V GM stuff. This unit is easy to learn how to use and has some awesome features. I concluded that my knock was all false. After backing the timing down to more than safe levels and measuring the output. I then brought timing back up and watched the output. As cylinder pressure increases the frequency will also increase in my experience. The goal is make sure the frequency is linear. Any major spikes are clear signs of knock. I never pushed my stuff to the knock point but it would be nice to know exactly what that looks like when using this tool. I know you guys are not in the business of giving out free information and displaying real knock with this tool could be an expensive marketing pitch but I think that might sell the heck out of this tool. Regardless this is probably the main reason my turbo Silverado runs as well as it does and has lived as long as it has. This tool works. Thanks for all the videos!

Thank you so much for your feedback, and for your support! It is a great tool that seems to come in handy for every car, every time. If we could change the price, we would. But it is well worth it!

I don't want to pit other shops/companies against each other but HPA did this a while ago with PLEX so check out their videos

I should have used a different verbiage with my statement. I want to see and hear what exactly knock is using this tool. The Tuning School has 3 videos regarding this tool. I have watched them multiple times. The loud ping you hear in the video regarding the supercharged C7 is clear as day. My question to them is that the exact audio from the tool? Is it that clear? I used audio editing software in conjunction with the Plex to map the output. I used the Plex software. I tried all kinds of stuff. I just want to see and hear what the pros know to be real knock with this tool.

@@mike91b58 I have one. I agree nobody shows it in real use. I've had to do a suck it and see approach. The manual from Flex is not very good either.

Seems like a good tool to monitor knock but can it work with your tuning software to add and remove timing bases on knock values?
@TheTuningSchool4 жыл бұрын
Yes. It's supposed to able to do this with stand-alone ECU’s. However, it is not something we have explored yet.

How would you attach a sensor in an older engine such as gen 1 SBC's?

Any boss on the side of the engine will typically work.

Will this work on a two stroke snowmobile engine?

I need one of those, I need one of those... US $1000, Umm maybe not that much. I would love one, but that is really hard to justify. If I was tuning all the time for a living, sure.

Definitely consider this when you do begin to tune a lot more (emphasis on "when"). It is definitely worth it!

Yep. But as my Grandma-in-law would always say, "you can't buy EVERYthing cheap." And she was right.
