This race was a life saver during the pandemic and I got into it! I have marked November 10th, the start date in 2024. Who knows? I want to be there.

Same here from Northwest Montana US ... I have been learning French so I can understand (not speak!!) although they did a great job with the English version videos and captions ... it is a French event with many French sailors so I want to be part of that. VG 2020 was my intro to IMOCA 60 and I have been following all of the races.

Commentary in English would be great, but the emotion and the spirit of the seas need no language. Don McIntyre runs GGR, a great solo race to follow. It’s a “slow scenic voyage”around the globe😂

@@SBAtmost Agreed, but I learned so much about the ocean, geography (Boris Hermann spoke a number of times about the history of islands they passed), how technology is used (I am a sailor but a lot that I didn't know), the nuances of existing solo for 3 months, history of the albatross and other sea birds ... From my perspective there was a lot to be learned from everyone's experience and it motivated me to research some things further. Some of the skippers/teams were more eloquent on camera than others, but the fact that they all participated in that way AND that some translation was available enhanced my experience of an incredible journey.
