Long ago in my youth, I owned a 71/84 Mauser (the repeater) in what was known as .43 (caliber) or 11mm Mauser. Happily for me and likely with the Lord's influence, I found and purchased the last two boxes of Imperial (Canadian brand) Cartridge Company 11mm Mauser cartridges. Also, Fred Huntington (who founded R. C. B. S.) operated a service for 'obsolete' cartridge loading dies; I purchased 1mm loading dies that fit current reloading machines. It was fun to shoot. I did reload a bit for it, using muzzle loading bullets that were 'close enough' and smokeless powder of some sort (I've forgotten). I sold it all off several years later as I wanted a more recent cartridge and rifle and my finances did not allow me a lot of expenditure. Like many other decisions, I have regretted it.

They're a great company and I bet they'd be responsive. I got a bunch of 7.7 arisaka from them, and it's perfect. I tried resizing from 30-06, but the factory brass is sooooo much more consistent. It's very hard to make a perfectly consistent resized brass, and accuracy suffered. Having good stuff to reload is a gosend.

While Lee tools are usable for the most part there are much better tools available like RCBS Redding Lyman and others. I suggest you invest in these higher quality reloading tools. It makes a difference. You are in Hungary? They should be available in central European countries. For resizing and or reshaping cases you need a good strong "C" frame press with a toggle lever system. Much easier with more leverage.

Depending on the construction of the cartridge at the rim (you'd probably have to cut a few to see if what i'm saying has merit) you could, in theory (based on how we reform copper pipes, or copper electric eyelets) make a press die that takes that excess in OD and transforms it in thickness. It would be a 3 piece die, IE, one center piece that enters the mouth of the cartridge, and two shells that close on the end, reforming the rim. It can be easily done on your lathe and doesn't need to be big. Here's how: you find a cylinder of mild steel, you slice this down the middle (band saw). Then you place this in the lathe, reduce to a perfect OD again (since you removed some material when you cut it) and then you bore the center line between the two faces with a negative shape of the Mauser 11 mm. It's a bit of blind bore work, but it's nothing that complicated that it can't be done, and because the modified case is a cylinder, you don't need a special shape, neither depth, i'd probably give it only 1 cm of depth. This can be then used to form the cartridges on a simple desktop vise. Just my 2 cents based on how electric copper dies are made, if we can form those with pliers, a case should't pose bigger difficulty. And, ultimately, reduces the operations down to two. The necking (my term) and the reforming of the rim.

Your lathe is similar to my own Sieg lathe. And your turret press looks familiar too. An issue is that our turret presses aren't really up to the stresses of resizing or swaging. My first handle simply snapped off not long ago while installing a gas cap and sizing. It was a total pain to find a new handle for an obsolete model. I have a new handle and the turret press works again, but I also am waiting on something from Corbin that can handle such tasks without stressing the parts beyond what was imagined.

@@ThePerfectRed Sure, but why exactly behaves the powder different?

Can't thank you enough for posting this video. I have two rifles chambered in this caliber and ammo is very hard to come by. Fortunately I have a lots of brass...mainly Old Dominion from an old commercial run of the ammo. But seeing how you can make it from 45-90 is reassuring. I can't wait to go boar hunting with my rifles. Haven't made it yet but maybe this year. One of them is a 1871 military rifle converted to a Jaeger carbine with set triggers and the other is a Haenel single shot sporter. Both are not unlike your stalking rifle by J.P. Sauer.
